Hello I'm new to the forums.

I'v been playing Gt series since the 1st but have never had any real comp against my friends.

on the dawn of the 4th in the series I'v started to practis again

I was messing about on Trial Mountain with a few of my cars and was wondering if their any good

clean laps no cutting or crashes
cars are turned

Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex Shigeno Version - about 1min 25secs
Mazda Rx-7 Type RZ - about 1min 19secs

I'm ok at other tracks but Trial Mountain is like my home course as it's been in their since the begining.

So my 1st question would be are they good or pants?

Are the cars stock or modded?

I make 1'23''202 on Trial Moutain with a Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex Shigeno Version. If you're a little rusty with GT driving, your times are awesome.

Hello, Ghost134, and welcome to GTPlanet.

For now, check out the Lap Time Comparisons board in the Online Racing Forum. But keep your eyes open for the soon-to-be-open GTPlanet Leaderboard! We're debuting our own GT-series lap time database. So feel free to post your times there as soon as it's open for business.

Duke, do we have a projected opening/release date for the board? And hopefully one a little more accurate than that for GT4

I believe that Jordan has timed it to coincide with the release of GT4.

As you can see, the forum is listed in the OLR forum, and Jordan has been beating his programmers about the head and shoulders to make them stick to the release date. I suspect Jordan and them might be pulling an all nighter to make sure it's ready.

Ah, who are the programmers? Some of the mod staff? Or other people that he employs? Sorry, last off topic post.

only started playing again about a week or two ago 1:23 gives me something to aim at.

cars are modded/tuned

I have traction controle and anti-spin set to off.

I checked the OLR out and saw that the board was there but no threads. I didn't post in case it isn't offically opened yet. Will the leader board also include the earlier versions of GT, I have some fast times, I think, for GT that I would like to post.

So I tried the course out for a bit (Trial Mountain used to be my fav as well, though I'm more into Midfield with GT3, heh). With the Arcade GT-ONE Race Car, I got a time of 1'17.644 on the first lap in Free Run (arcade mode).

I couldn't get any better than around 1'25 with a stock ZZII (no changes to parts or settings, it was completely untuned)... but ironically enough, when I went into sim mode and tuned it, then returned to Free Run to do another series of laps, I got a much improved time of 1'15.913... which was about 10 full seconds faster than the best I could do with the ZZII untuned, and was also faster than my fastest lap in the Arcade GT-ONE, lol.

Just to let you know, I'm actually kind of a piss poor driver at this game, so you should be able to top my times no problem. Hell, I'd bet if you tried out the Arcade 787B, you could beat 1'15 with no problem, yourself.

Coincidentally, I wouldn't use the records you see online as a guide though... alot of them seem really unrealistic for the standard gamer to obtain. The peeps that get those truly low times must really get into this game somethin fierce, lol....

It should be open soon, though I don't know the exact date. I know it's nearly ready. And yes, I believe it will have records for all 6 GT games. Certainly the 4 main titles as far as I know.

Great and it will also include GT3C and GT4P as well. Aren't there 2 different versions of GT3C though? So should that be 7 GT games?

they are both pretty much exactly the same:)

Right, that's the 1 game from the GT series that I don't own. I can't decide whether to buy it or not.
