I had to get a car for the time being, until i got a new one that is, so i found an ad in the paper and gave it a shot. Its an '84 Nissan Maxima/Datsun. It has an L24 I-6 engine. I was wondering if you can give some specs on the engine. Here are some pictures.
 
Inside needs some work...just a bit dirty. The trunk looked like crap, it had been stadning outside for a year. Water had gotten into the trunk and rusted the metal, and also filled up with a couple inches of water. I was outside for a good 2 hours cleaning the exterior and trunk. Its auto everything...windows, locks, mirrors. Too bad none of them work:lol:. Except for the mirrors. Gotta take it to a mechanic and get it looked at. So does anyone have any info on the engine? Mainly how much power it has. The manual only explains displacment and firing order and bore&stroke.

Thanks Fen...but in the manual it said that the compression ratoi is 8.9 or something...i could be mistaken.

i got a friend who transplanted a SR20 in to 84 bluebird (same body with different front etc) and goes good
 
I can't remember where I saw it, but someone actually shoved an RB into one of those, no idea how, the engine bay doesn't look like it'd fit it. Oh well, it's a nice ride.
 
you wouldnt have much trouble fitting a RB in that engine bay, theres plenty of room in there, refering to maxima not bluebird, bluebirds have less room
 
My dad had an '82 Maxima, silver, I6 5 speed. It was cool. I remember many a sunday getting picked up from sunday school at my temple and leaving the lot drifting sideways. And also a time of seeing how fast 4th gear could go(which was pointless since the speedo only went to 85. After it pegged, we were left guessing). We sold it back in '96 to one of my dad's friends...my dad still worked on it every so often, but I haven't seen the car in a couple of years.
