Hey all!

I was wondering what cars and tracks people would want to see in iRacing as well as cars/tracks you think might pop up in the future. (apart from those we know of ofc)

Personally I would really love to see the M3 because there aren't really any proper touring cars in the im already that I know of.
My hues is however that they will bring out the cadilac nascar since they are already working with cadilac.

For tracks I would love to see more F1 tracks or at least some more european tracks. Number for for me would be Monte Carlo.
I would hues that they will get the new american F1 track though

So what are your thoughts?

This morning while watching an F1 race I was thinking that Brazilian course, Interlagos, would make a nice addition. But honestly the only track I would care the most about would be scanning the new F1 track being built in Texas :dopey:

We could use some more Australian tracks thats being ran in v8 supercars

I really dont have any car requests. for all the major racing series I watch on TV they are all represented in iRacing already. Maybe we could get some more cars from Grand Am & ALMS.

Audi R8 LMS / Grand Am car would be nice!

They actually went to Brasil to scan Interlagos, but ran into trouble with customs about their equipment and couldn't do it. They've said they are going back to scan it.

Last season on the Proto/GT series Mid Ohio week I was in a race with 3 staff members, after the race a bunch of us stayed and chatted for a while. Nurburgring is on their to do list, Porsche has always been on that list by the staff and management, day/night transitions are on the works.

Tracks I'd like to see:
Monza
Monaco
LeMans
AbuDhabi
Hokenheim
Mt.Panorama
Istanbul
Circuit Of The Americas
Circuit Gilles Vilnueve
Sepang

Cars I'd like to see:
-Some sort of FWD N/A high revving touring car(Hatfords Integra)

-Updated HPDARX01 to the current HPDARX03 P1 car

Well, we are getting Donington, Oran Park, the new Silverstone, Cadillac CTS-V, old lotus F1 car and the MP4-12C GT3. So I am happy with that at the moment.

Rumour also has it they have scanned BTCC cars too.

As for a wishlist:
Rockingham, UK
Zolder
Singapore
Catalunya
Knockhill
Mondello Park
Magny-Cours
Paul Ricard HTTT
Estoril
Monza
Imola
Euroring
Lauszitsring

Yeah I remember reading bout the Interlagos problems which is a darn shame.

* Note- I do kind of a shudder at the thought of them adding more & more tracks. That means rookies will get hard when they come on board. The problem I forsee is that tracks will cease to have 'overlap' in the various series.

for instance right now most any series will run Watkins Glen, mid Ohio, & road America. I know when I was a rookie I just purchased the popular ones and got by just fine til I decided I wanted to commit to owning all the road courses. With each new piece of content the sim will exponentially grow more & more expensive for newbies

When you say the Hatfords Integra, do you mean the orange Halfords one which ran in the BTCC?

I would love to see a DTM or BTCC car.

At the state the game is in now I totaly agree with you, I started myself just a few weeks ago and yeah it is starting to get expansive at this point.
One solution could be that they branch out the game a bit more into more kinds of racing so you dont HAVE to own every damn track if if you only enjoy racing in one type of series. But then again there might not be enought players for that yet.

As for tracks and cars mentioned above, MAN I would LOVE to see the DBRS9 (dont forget the S!!!) in the game!! I have totaly forgoten about that one! And the R8 would be aaawesome! That is my favorite Audi of all time.
Hokenheim would be realy cool to see! And im looking forward to Donnington :)
And the 60s F1 car will be soooo cool!

I dont think F1 cars are that popular, apart from some pro drivers, hardly anyone drives them. Formula Fun is pretty much dead.

It's not that it isn't popular, it takes a lot of practice and seat time to play arround in the F1 cars. And also keep in mind that the slightest mistake will cost you a lot at this level in iRacing. Spin out once and there goes any hope of getting any SR, now you drive the rest of the race hoping not to spin and worried about all the iR you're gonna loose.

Yeah Jav sums it up perfectly. It would be awesome to drive the F1 but you really gotta bring your A+ game because thats the domain where the pros live.

Guess you're right. Well, how about some 90's touring cars then? I can't be the only one to think BTCC's golden age was the mid/late 90's, or maybe it's just because I was a kid back then that I like the 90's so much.

btcc_1996_header.jpg

They would be pretty user friendly as well, since most (If not all?) of 'em were front wheel drive.

EDIT: Oh and +1 for Super GT cars by the way! 👍

Circuit of the Americas (I hope this will be a decent track for racing)
Zhuhai
Mondello Park

A class F1 is not dead, official races are usually on the weekend when everybody is prepared.

Tracks:
Nordschleife
Bathurst
Le Mans
Catalunya
Monaco
Albert Park
Montreal
...

What I really want to see and what I think iracing DEFINITELY needs is

NURBURGING NORDSCHLIEFE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe they still have made no plans to scan it.

Other than that, I want to see
MACAU and BATHURST

For cars-
Caterham (definitely need a caterham)
Road Cars (preferable supercars)
Lotus 49 (I think it's already on the way though)
Ultima GTR
Mosler
Saleen S7 TT
Ferrari 458

I would love to see supercars in the game. They're like race cars for the road except low downforce. I find it strange that most iracers assume that having supercars is something that only console games do, nonsense. Any brilliant car should be in a simulation, not just race cars

RUF is coming! So we have our own iracing version of the Porsche Cup soon!

Excited!

Holy crap you're right!!

They're going to add the Ruf RT12 R. It looks like a regular supercar!!! That's awesome. I'm definitely getting that one ASAP. I love race cars but really a supercar like that is the only thing I would buy right away. Can't wait. Though it's probably gonna be a long time huh?

I heard about the lotus 49 being added a long time ago and still havent seen it. Same with the McLaren Mp4 12c GT3 car

There's no official word yet, but from what Steve Myers said, people in the forums have deduced that it should go:

Cadillac -> McLaren -> RUF -> Lotus 49

But there could also be cars in between these as well (2012 Indy Car?)

That would mean that all of these cars should be out in 2012.

Would like to see some parady within the series we already have. Like Ford, Toyota, Dodge on the NASCAR side. Then the same thing on the road side of things with various makes racing in same series and class. I feel there is just about enough series and with the upcoming cars, the motorsport world is almost completely covered. Or at least the major series out there.

As far as tracks,

La Sarthe(opening race could be 24h Le Mans event with the driver change/team feature that is supposedly in the works)
Nurburgring(all configurations including Nordscheife)
Bathurst
Circuit of the Americas(really hoping for this one in the next few years)

Also would like to see more F1 tracks. I would definitely drive the Williams more with proper tracks for it.

Excited for the release of Donington next year. Always liked that circuit in most racing sims. iRacing should be no different.

I think the late '60s trans am cars could be cool, like the '69 boss 302 or '67 cougar XR-7.
Also completion of the legends cars would be cool, I don't think much would change in physics, just body style, we have the '34 coupe, so '37 sedan, and '40 coupe, also the '34 chevy coupe (it's a 3-window vs. the 5-window ford we have, with the tri-oval rear window, with the same chassis).

Also, I believe the mustang challenge is based out of Miller Motorsports Park

Auto Club Speedway
Kansas Speedway
Rockingham Speedway
A few more short tracks for Late Model/National Series
Nürburgring
Circuit de la Sarthe

Those along with the occasional rescan of current tracks in the service would pretty much do it for me.

I think sometimes thinking outside the box with wishlists is a good idea. I was trying to think of circuits the other day that would not only expand iRacings catalogue, but would be worthwhile additions and perhaps expand into new markets. Heres what I came up with;

Being from the UK, I think this would be a great addition, Rockingham Speedway.
Has a 1.5 mile 4 turn oval, and numerous road circuits, used for BTCC in road form and not sure what runs the oval but ASCAR used to. Would be cool to see a non American oval:

Main road course:

Speaking of non-American ovals and multi-use circuits, Eurospeedway Lausitzring, a 3 turn oval and a challenging road course:
Oval:

Other layouts:

Next up, Bahrain. Now bear with me, I know in F1 terms its not particularly wonderful and can be considered a bit dull to look at, but iRacing has no Asian circuits and this has enough to keep it interesting and give it value for money. First up the GP track:

Then the "Outer" layout:

The External circuit:

And, the Oval layout, yes, Bahrain has one, 1.2 mile flat oval:

And finally, for now, Calder Park in Australia, again another oval/road track but interesting in that the Road course is outside the oval. Probably exists elsewhere but I don't know much about America's Ovals:

Where did you read about the Viper? or is that just your wish? I'd love to see a Viper in the service. :)
