Hi guys, im new to the forum and have just replaced my old dying 360 with a 320gb ps3. So GT5 (imo) isnt as good as Forza 3 but it is the best game available for my shiny new machine. After having a look around it became clear that the G27 was the wheel to have, so a quick look on the web found me shelling out a tidy £229 and free delivery from Play.com. Prices on Ebay for second hand G27s were more that what I paid for a brand spanker!

So now my wheel has turned up (2 days after ordering). I have ordered some carbon fibre and a couple of go faster stickers and Im waiting delivery of all my new black PVC pipe.

My first question is this; can the G27 alloy pedals be swapped for a shiny set of Sparcos or Momos or is there a bit of drilling involved. If they will swap straight over using the machined holes on a set of pedals that would be great.

Il get some pics posted when things turn up and start to take shape. Great forum and I look forward to hearing from you all.:)

I doubt they'd fit straight on, but heck, if you can make them fit I don't see why they wouldn't work, although the G27's pedals are really pretty decent, especially on sock feet. You planning to swap the wheel too? That'd look pretty sick IMO.

PVC and carbon fibre should be here in the morning so will have some photos pretty soon. Has anyone stripped the buttons out of their G27 Gear Stick? I wanted to remove the aluminium trim and add my own little touches to it. If anyone has pics of it removed that would be great. Still looking for pedals I like so will keep the thread updated as I go.

Hey, I'm pretty sure they will. I recently took off the pedals to adjust them (Highly recommend) to find that they're only held on by 2 alan key bolts each. Find a set of pedals with the right spacing between the bolts and you're ready to go! Alternatively, you can buy some covereed in holes to fit it exactley where you want. Your best bet I'd say is to measure the hole spacing to work out what you want. You'll also probably need to make a foam spacer between the pedal and the mechanism. Hope this helps!

Hey all,

As promised heres some pics of the start of my build;

And got my G27 pedals stripped ready;

So its all solvent welded now and ready for carbon fibre, wire fitting and to mount the pedals, not bad for 4 hours work.

I will post some more pics later when i get a bit more done.

Good Work! Looks pretty impressive! I suppose you're inverting the pedals? If you do, I recommend making a very stong backboard or stable surface to mount them on. Nothing worse than the whole board moving around! Anyway, keep going! Love the M&M Man!!

Need to sort the top edge of the carbon on the pedal base looks quite rubbish because it hasnt stuck too well to the chipboard.

Oh and just for Sgt_Sheep;

That's some nice work there mate 👍

Would you mind telling me where you got the carbon fibre film from? :)

Thanks, got the film from ebay it was the cheaper stuff but has been as good as the proper 3M that is 3 times the price. I need to order some more tonight I ran out and need to get a few more bits to finish it off.

Cool Mate ;)

I think i gonna make one like yours :)
Can you share number of tubes and the sizes of them?
