Okay, so I just got a new laptop and everything with was great. I unplugged my desktop and plugged my new laptop up to our Network and it connects fine and the internet works fine (I'm on it now). I also switched back to my desktop a little just to put some music and stuff on disk so I could transfer it to my laptop. Then I went and bought a new network cable that is longer so it will reach a little farther away from my router. It seems to work fine with my laptop, but the problem I have is that when I try to plug my old computer back up to the network it gives me a "Network Cable Unplugged Message" and even when it's plugged in. This happens with the new cable and with the old cable. I'm wondering if it's my ethernet card on my desktop. It just seems like a strange time for it to crap out on me.
If anybody here knows a bit about networks and could help me solve this problem I'd really appreciate it.
