Just a heads up, but Crysis may have problems even on that computer simply because of how poorly it was coded. I don't know whether it effects the 48XX series cards, but I do know that the game seems to hate Radeons for whatever reason. Otherwise, that is a good set of components you have there.

If I was in your place I would get a Core i7 CPU and motherboard and downgrade the video card. It would be more future-proof that way.

As it is, the price on the motherboard seems a little too high. And I would probably go with a dual-core for gaming.

How long do you want this computer to last?

The best P45 Crossfire board you can get is the Gigabyte P45 UD3P and its $100 less than the Asus board. You can read all about it here.

ROAD_DOG is right about Dual Core being better for gaming over the quad core.
I still think Core i7 is still too expensive although I've seen 3gbs of ram for $60 and an MSI mb or $169. I would get this CPU. This is a very popular CPU.

As for the Heat sink I would get this one.

Its much better at cooling than the Zalman. Read this.

The video card is right on the money in that price range.

As for the DVD burner I've had both Lite-on and Samsung and the Samsung makes way fewer coasters than any DVD burner I've used. You can't get the 203b that I have but this one is highly rated.

I like the PSU. I put one in my sisters computer.
As for the HDD I would stay away from any Seagate 500gb drives. They have been having a lot of problems with those drives. Search google on this one. Good luck with your build.

I think I got a Tiger Direct email add a few days ago for a Corsair 850 for the same price as your 650. Might want to check it out.

Did your friend pick the components out? I see a few things I don't understand. Unless you're hoping to re-use some parts later, some of that stuff is sort of overkill.

If you want to stick with a Quad, I would do what others are saying and go with a Q9550 or even a Q6600 if you want to save some cash. Changing motherboards will also change memory. I don't see any real reason to go with a DDR3 board/memory unless you want to use the DDR3 in a few years. Gigabyte UD3P or UD3R with some G.Skill DDR2 memory will be perfectly fine. The power supply is a pretty highly rated and often suggested one, nothing wrong there. Hard drive, I'd choose one of the 640GB Western Digital drives.

If you want quad core, the only way to go is Q9550 or AMD Dragon platform.

I'm most likely going to go Dragon, but am waiting until after April for the Q2 product updates from every company.
