Hey,
I've just bought all the parts for my new computer.
AMD Athlon 3500+
ABIT AN8 SLI with uGuru overclocking technology
Powercolor ATi Radeon X850XT
Kingston 1 gb memory
Atrix 480w power supply
Hitachi Deskstar 80gig SATA hard drive
No speakers
No soundcard

Grand total: $760
Does this seem like a good deal to you?
How much can i overclock the AMD to safely?

I hope thats a gig of memory there ;)

Seems like a pretty good deal. Acceptable o/c depends on what you have for fans/heatsink.

Bit of a small hard drive isn't it?

Anyway, yes it's not a bad setup you've got there. You should find that with a good air cooler the 3500+ will OC quite nicely.

You can buy 500GB SATA2 16MB Cache for like £250 now these days in UK. But US prices are also cheaper. If you looking at SATA2 HDD you can install it where SATA HDD's would be plugged in.

To overclock a AMD 64 much better, where do some research while finding a good program. While buying a bigger Heatsink, like 120MM.

Which would allow you to have less RPM then a 80MM or 60MM heatsink, plus how many case fans have you got.

Yes, but i'm the only user, so I think that 80gb is sufficient. I don't store any vids or anything, but i have 10gb of music and only a couple of games, so I may use half of it at most.
