Is this true? If so, who are you? Show yourselves! Don't be shy.. I'm sure you will be showered with praise and worshipped as a god/dess!! :dopey:

Or are you talking about "virtual" drifters, Delphic?.. :dopey:

Quickly naming a few...

DelphicReason, Mike (Team FBI), Cudaman (back in GT3), Pergatory (also back in GT3)...and the list goes on and on and on...

Ah... Pergs was great. Didn't really know him, but I liked him. I wish I still had the lap of Monaco he did with the 240 in GT3 for (what I think was) GTPDC Week 5. That was and will remain the cleanest drift lap I've ever seen performed there.

...I wonder if it's GTP hosted....kinda doubt it, but I'm gonna check....

He was my mentor... He taught me most of what I know how to do as a drifter... I was even at the same rally events as Mr. Pergatory a few times (in the Washington/Oregon area)... Guess what he drives... That's right, a little red JDM AE86 Trueno... At least he did back then... We had planned on puting together a collaboration vid between the two of us... However, he dissapeared a few weeks later, and no one has heard from him since...

I really didn't put much time into my entry into the GTPDC5... If you remember, I was very clear that I just didn't have time, and I entered a lap just for kicks... I was expecting last place, and somehow I snagged third... Terrible lap though... Makes me cringe every time I watch it...

He came back once, although I think it was during a time that you weren't fully active on the forums. Here he is hijacking AO's retirement thread. I got in a quick shout, but he left in a hurry... something about bugs.

GTPDC Week 5. Wow look it all the entries the GTPDC's were getting back then... and on such a difficult track. and yup... silviadrifter takes third step on the podium. I wish I had been on the forums then, I got here so late in GT3... I would have been no competition for anyone, but I would have had fun.

haha why thank you for your acknowledgement. However, I am not yet at that level. Thanks though.

Wait a second, what's the topic of this thread anyway

I searched here but couldnt find and maybe this is a n00b question but can someone explain to me that horrible snap when counter steering. Is there some setting you can adjust to get rid of it? I searched and nothing on the snap counter steer.

seriously???

there's well over 100 topics that mention it... you really mustn't have tried all that hard. [search the gt4 drift forum for the word 'snap']

Anyways, in general you want weight transfer at the rear of the car to be a bit more controlled. If you bump up the rear spring rate that might help. stiffen up all your damper/shock settings by a tick or two [according to Scaff's suspension guide]. You could also try softening the front stabilizer and/or stiffening the rear.

Each of these changes will increase the speed of lateral weight transfer at the rear of the vehicle [with respect to lateral weight transfer at the front] - but the weight transfer will occur in a more controlled manner, and less violently.

Of course, the only way to totally eliminate it is to tidy up your steering work.

Thanks a bunch. Ill search snap and see. Got slightly better in my Spec C but havent tried it much. And I'll practice my steering 👍

im also a n00b but i think your problem is that your tires are regaining grip so when you countersteer it flicks the car back the other way. but remember im no expert  wait for someone like boundary layer to answer your question:bowdown:
