Im new here..

I just found this site, and decided to try drifting on GT3.

I spent probly more time editing & adding effects (im a video nut)

Its just one lap (im sure you know the track)

Normaly I use all the "sticky cars" Since yesterday I just got into drifting when my friend showed me Inital D (BAD ASS SHOW)

Anyways here is my first drifter car,
And also my first attempt at drifting with only 1 hour of practice.

Ok, watched the vid. Nice effect man. Looked like it was snowing in Midfield. Hehehe.

As for the drifting, well, there's definetely room for improvement. And seeing as you've only drifted for an hour or so, quite ok. Unlike me, who spun out every corner. Hehe.

Anyways, welcome to GTP. I do hope that that isn't your last video. Just practice some more and go download some of the other vids here and practice again. Watching other people really help with the lines, angles and stuff.

Happy drifting.

imo if you use slicks or sims and you get good try the other like if u start with sims try slicks and vise versa i found that learning with slicks and switching to sims helped but i couldnt start out with sims (by slicks i mean racing tires)

or more horsepower faster drifting but i now realise that drifting with low horsepower and sims is the best way to go unless you wanna drift when you race. and even then i wouldnt max out my car to make it unfair

Or you can experiment and try to get to know the limits of your car. I slowly worked with my 4wd's on Sims to the point where i could control it but race it as well...pretty bad ass...and sorry no pics yet

Also, does anyone have a logical explanation that fully explains why the last turn on midfield....that S turn to the straightaway induces drift so hard? Does it like....disrupt the weight balance...or does it like...break tyhe traction due to the leveling of the ground and what not...like...i have an idea, but until i have a good answer, i wont know the best way to go into that corner full on balls to the wall, hehe

It's a banked corner, you have a lot more lateral traction because the car has to slide uphill in order to go sideways. In other words, more of the power you lay down is getting to the road.

Is that your first time drifting? i suggest you try "Hard Slicks Tires" to pratice drifting. Once you are comfortable with that you can move on to "Simulation Tires" At first the hard slicks can be hard to loose traction. this means you might not have enough power in the car or you might need to mess with the suspension settings of the car. Go into a turn and break and downshift. control gas and counter-steer, but do not counter-steer all the time. just when you need it. upon exiting a drift slowly ease off gas and shift up. That is a basics IMHO. Once you have hardslicks to "the back of your hand" try sims. very hard. there are "Drifting Guides" Go search and read. Some helped me. :D

Welcome to GTP. :D

Maybe i should do that. I have a R34 Skyline at 1070HP and medium-soft tires. I'm looking for an opinion. I'm not able to get very big angles. Should i go for sims or super-slicks.

1070 hp with Sims = killer! :)

A setup that works for me (even though alot of controversy surrounds it) with R34 with that amount of HP is to put supersofts in front and normal tyres rear.

ok thnx i used that and its awesome
i had like 200k so i bought every set and used combos and ive had huge success with rear sims and front super softs
