Yet another scandal looks set to rock Formula 1 after it was revealed that an email had been sent to a high-ranking F1 team member offering him a share of $15 million, currently sat in a Nigerian bank.
A Mr Thomas Mashaba says he sent the email last week to several thousand people, one of whom may or may not have been an employee of a top F1 team.
Mr Mashaba claims to have the millions stuck in the bank, and for rather convoluted reasons involving lots of family woes, can only get at it via a UK bank after having somebody lend him $5,000 expenses.
In return for assistance, he will pay 20% of the 15 big ones, which is really not a bad return, although explaining this suspicious transaction to the taxman could prove tricky.
It is believed that an amnesty may be offered to anybody coming forward with information about the offer before they are tempted to get involved any further.
