New feature — downshift protection in GT7?

Hello, last two days I see that sometimes during downshifting in GT7 it does nothing. Like there is a downshift protection as a new feature in GT7 because I never noticed it here.
The other possibility is that my shifters are broken. But as far as I am trying it seems the first possibility is true. But I did not read about it anywhere so I ask here if you have the same experience.
