for those of you who dont know what linearity is here is something i found off a site

Setting between a progressively mapped wheel and a linear one. Full left on the linearity bar means maxiumum progressive setting, and full right mean max linear.

Linear setting to max linear (full right) means the car's wheel is mapped directly to your wheel. The car's wheel exactly duplicates your movements.

Linear setting to max progressive (full left) means that slight turns and adjustments of your wheel is translated to very, very small adjustements of the car's wheel, and that large turns of your wheel will still go through at full power.

In other words: If you find that you a) can't maintain control at high speed due to high sensitivity or b) can't make turn sharply enough at low speeds - you want to move the linearity bar further to the left.

New firmware is only currently available to new customers of special edition.Other will get it later. Info about new fanatec wheel is likely to released in 4 months.

I knew the firmware wasnt available for owners of the non special edition, didnt know it could be a four month wait time

also how does delphic come to the conclusion that this firmware will make the wheel work on older ps2 games? am i missing something

Thomas himself stated that "it is only a zip file - and will be available soon enough".

Should be "out in the wild" post haste!

You understood me wrong. Special edition is not new wheel. I just think fanatec will introduce replacement for turbo s in that time.

No i understood you perfect, my wway of explaining it is probably at fault..i know that special edition is just a name. difference is the cs pedals, wheel is the same

I don't think there will be replacement for Turbo S, at least not this year, because the next wheel they are going to sell is probably a cheap Carrera wheel. It has been on their webpage for a long time, but not on their webshop yet.

They are now selling last turbo s wheels. If there is no replacement, they will produce more at some point, which makes this statement wrong: "The production of the PWTS will end in April and the last units of the Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel will be available in a special offer"

Maybe they will now consentrate on carrera like you said. Turbo S has brought massive amount of experience to fanatec for making good wheel. They will likely now seek financing for next product and bring new high-end wheel when fanatec and public is ready for it. Turbo S wheels have had some troubles and fanatec will likely try to spend more time on r&d for high-end wheels and sell carrera in mean time.

Sure thing is that fanatec will have wheels to sell when GT5 is out.

Wasnt it part of an april fools though?

Maybe the new firmware will become available for all Turbo S?

They had igame controller thing for fools joke.

"Maybe the new firmware will become available for all Turbo S? "
Yes they will as they alredy said.
