Though I'm still a new member to the forums of GTPLANET, I had been reading them for a while longer. I've done some searches for an idea about Gran Tourismo 5, wich I had no success as the "5" could not be part of my query. After trying to run this idea through Jordan and AltF8 (no feedback as of this writing), I figured I'd run this via the Questions & Comments's forum and perhaps get some feedback.

As most of us know, Gran Turismo 4 is all but ready to be released. Polyphony Digital is likely working on details (glitches, licences, etc.), so no matter what we may have contributed (and still are) to the various "wish lists", nothing will be implemented in that version. However, as I'm certain that they (along with Sony) have PR, Research and Marketing people already planing the following version of Gran Turismo (Aniversary or GT5), and certain that these people take cues from forums such as this one, I think a true "wish list" forum (Gran Turismo 5?) deserves it's own place within these pages.

A set of guidelines could be required (?) as to keep the whole idea realistic (i.e. not taking into account possible PS3 with HDD, more memory, faster processor, etc.), such as to keep the focus on the game itself (i.e. 2 dvd's as there were 2 cd's in GT2).

I hope this forum to get maximum imput from all the members!
:)

personnally speaking I am already sick of the GT4 hype I just want it out. . . I like your idea of a "wishlist" but I don't think it would be necessary to create a new forum over this issue. . . It is bad enough we are starving for GT4 why stave over a GT5 or anniversary whatever it may be. . .

miata13B: Thank's for your input, I hear what you're saying. I too am linguering to get my hands on GT4 (whenever it does make it out). However, with GT4, we've mainly been speculating and wishing things that will have no impact on it as it's basically already a done game. The idea would be to litteraly be able to have our say in the following version, regarless of what we'll get in GT4. For example, we already know there'll be too many versions of any given japanese model (i.e. 100 Sylines of the same model/year configuration, etc.).

I'd think more in a defined parameter forum for the following version. Things we already like, our pet-peeves, the cars (the one's we'd like too see along with the ones wee see too many of), the tracks, etc... Maybe even be more specific when posting, not just saying what we may not like, but also why, at wich time a certain effect occurs (or doesn't and should).

GT4 should be released before we even begin speculating about GT5. That's just way too far off, especially in internet time.

I understand that GT4 isn't out on the shelves just yet, but at this point and time, we all know that the product as such is already done, save for some last minute glitches (wich I'm sure we appreciate PD for fixing before hand) and some last minute details to licences.

But PD and Sony surely already have scheduled the R & D on future editions of Gran Turismo.

That being said, I'm also aware that those same people also already have their share of ideas for the next project (most likely items that were ommited from the upcoming GT4 due to PS2 restrictions).

Whatever the members of this forum would come up with (ideas) and that would happen to already be in GT4 would simply reinforce PD and Sony to include those features in future productions, wheras member might also come up with new ideas (or in sufficient numbers to any given idea) for PD and Sony to consider implementing them in future version.

I am of course relating to the WANTS in the game itself (not withstanding the present limitations of PS2).

Also, I belive that this fine forum could show leadership by being the first to envision the future possibilities of the Gran Turismo gaming community.

I must say that I agree fully with Jordan on this issue; We haven't even seen GT4 yet, so how do we know that the stuff we might complain about in the forum won't be fixed in GT4? It is way too early to start thinking about GT5 yet, as 4 is still at least 2 months from release *knocks on wood*. But be patient, once Gran Turismo 4 is released and enough people have it, we will start talking about its flaws and then GT5 (which, I'm pretty sure, will be on the Playstation 3).
