"Ford Performance Vehicles has unveiled its bold new range of high-performance vehicles at the 2005 Australian International Motor Show. For the first time since FPV was launched in September 2002, the BF range will consist of a full product lineup of six high-performance models: GT, GT-P, Pursuit, Super Pursuit, F6 Typhoon and F6 Tornado. The addition of the ZF six-speed automatic transmission has allowed FPV to increase its product portfolio with, for the first time, an automatic gearbox available as an option on the turbo-charged F6 Typhoon and F6 Tornado."

What do we think? These Aussie V8s are really starting to grow on me, So far I havent noticed any cosmetic changes to the Typhoon, but the performance figures are pretty impressive.
 
Not much different to te Previous GT-P, Just visual differences, same spec engine and drivetrain, except better brakes.

The wheels, front and rear bumber, stripes all look new and I think the side skirt is slightly different also.

Wish they'd hurry up and announce that they're bringing a restyled Falcon to the states to replace the Crown Victoria.

Ford Falcon, Mercury Marquis, Lincoln Whateverthehelltheycallit.
 
FPV sucks. They barley changed anything. No way they can even compete with HSV.

It'd be badas to see some Falcon Police car on our side of the shores...
 
Finally! An auto for the Typhoon! meh.

At least they'll be able to run them without blowing the clutch now.
 
Once I saw Ford/Mercury use the F/M naming convention, it occured to me that they would get to the big sedans sooner or later.

Australia has a far superior RWD sedan platform than we do (we're still using something based on the old Fox Body Mustang design) so why not convert it to LHD and bring it up.

Focus, Fusion, Five Hundred, Falcon
*****, Milan, Montego, Marquis
*****, *****, Zephyr, Zippadeedooda?

Just makes sense to me.
 
Yeah Thats how you recieve the engine, they dont trust themselves to put it together :p.
 
The Falcon wont be going to the US yet. Manufacturers are less likely to spend money on converting the fuel guzzlling V8's than some 4-banger which runs on the smell of an oily rag. Also, the US unions wont wear it - the same problem occurred when GM started importing the Monaro (GTO). The unions over there want the vehicle made in the US, not overseas.
 
**** the damn unions, thats the #1 problem with American makes.

Toyota can make trucks in the US but Chevy/Ford cannot? Bullsh**.

No it's the opposite... they want the cars produced by an American company to be produced in America.
 
Well, hopefully they could either retool the Crown Vic lines for a updated car, or something.

Either way, I'm all but certain it will be called a Falcon, and the Mercury will be a Marquis.

Whether it's an Australian Falcon, or some new car wearing the name is up in the air.

I know the Falcon would probably be a good step up technologically over the decades old Vic platform.
