Hey guys, so I finally replaced my aging DFP with a G27, although I haven't tried it yet as I am waiting on my shifter mount for my racing seat. I wanted to ask, any tips on it? I have been seeing some aftermarket products like springs and a shifter buffer, I would love to add things to it to make it more realistic, but I'm confused as to whats good and whats more niche.

You don't need to wait to try the wheel, just use the paddles until your bracket shows up. I started with the shifter on the floor until I made the bracket. You will love the wheel feel right away, and the shifting is more solid than the DFGT.

The brake will take a while to get used to. It feels different. The suggestions for the GTeye (I have tried it) and the Nixim is good, especially at the beginning, as you have to learn a new brake feel. Just make sure your rig has solid pedal mounting, as those upgraded springs are a bit stiff for floor mounting the pedals.

Just wanted to say I love it. Tried rFactor and it really felt realistic, the ONLY thing missing is the SOTP of course, but the feeling is down. And its nice and quiet unlike my old DFP.

I also tried GT5 and man is it frustrating, how you have to lift or it just goes into neutral. I may never play again unless I use the paddles. Its just not fun.

If you start out with the paddles you can use the shifter without the clutch or lifting off the gas.

Edit I'm an idiot, ok so use the paddles at the start and it eliminates this problem.

I sometimes seem to shift faster than it registers so I get stuck in neutral. In real life it just goes in, I guess here a certain point must be hit for it to work. Wow very annoying.

What I recently noticed is that you can use the shifter w/o touching the clutch. So full throttle shifts are no problem. Try it out,up shift/down shift and not have to lift or use the clutch. In fact,of you use the clutch you'll probably get stuck in neutral. Not very realistic,But fun anyway.

I guess if you want the placebo effect of the clutch pedal, take it apart and disconnect the pedal switch. lol. But if you do that you wont be able to launch.

Not at all its annoying as heck. I wish it would just work correctly like in other games I've tried.
