The title is pretty self explanitory of the problem. I have heard from somewhere that your save file is somewhat coded to work only with the initial disc you used. As I intend on picking up a collectors edition of the game via trading in my standard copy, I was wondering if anyone knew whether what I had heard was true or that I can use any disc I please. Thanks in advance.

nope, not true, i have taken my save file over to friends houses, and used them on their ps3/ gt5 disc

It would be fine, you likely heard it was tied to your psn account, not your disc

Untrue, already did it without issue.
Yes, PSN account, not disk.

You might be thinking of DC universe online. That game is tied to your PSN account so ONLY YOUR PSN account can play with that disc.

As others have already said, you can use the same game save with multiple discs, so long as those discs are from the same region.

If the game discs are from different regions (Europe/North America), each will need to have its own independent game save. This would apply, for example, if someone imported the Signature Edition from Europe to the United States - they wouldn't be able to play their original US game save on the Signature Edition disc.

This probably doesn't apply to you, the thread OP, but it's worth mentioning in case someone finds this thread in the future who may be in this situation.

Cheers everyone for the help. I think I may have been getting mixed up with the psn accounts. And cheers for the info on the different region saves, but it shouldn't be a problem, as both are region 4 pal copies
