Hey everyone. I'm a 41 year old dad that just picked up a PSPGO for my daughters and ended up becoming addicted to Gran Turismo! This game is fantastic. I have spent years racing RC cars and am reay enjoying the racing, tuning and wide assortment of cars in GT.

Here is a list of some of my cars and my thoughts on them:

Nissan Skyline GT-R N1 '95: This was the first car I started to do well with. It is 4WD and pretty quick. I like racing it on he Chamonix course.

Ruf CTR2: This relatiely inexpenisve car allowed me to win lots of money on the Test course. Besides that it is fun to drive and is one o my favorites.

Bugatti Veyron: Of course everyone is familiar with this car. I like it too, but it took me a while to learn how to handle the power and the weight.

Ferrari Enzo: This may well be my favorite car. It is fast enough and handles really well. I usually am able to pass other cars in the turns with this car.

Ferrari F2007: Absolutely an amazing car. I am still learning to drive it. Really fun winding it out. Brakes very well and handles like it is on rails.

BMW McLaren F1 GTR Race Car: Very powerfull but a bit hard to handle in the turns. If anyone has any setup tips let me know as I am nt doing well with this car.

ASL ARTA Garaiya '03: One of my favorites. Not the fastest car but handles great. Very enjoyable to drive.

Gillet Vertigo Race Car '04: This is my least favorite car. It can not make a tight turn and is a pig on the track. If anyone is having success with this car please let me in on the secret!

Toyota MR2 Spyder (6MT) '02: Fun to drive. Handles well. I don't use it too much anymore.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the above and also some recommendations. I a still pretty new a GT so my lap times aren't that great.

Cheers,

Tom

Welcome, Tom! I'm a 35 year old father myself... and there are quite a few others here as well.

I actually love the Gillett Vertigo in the Gran Turismo games. I haven't yet bought it in this PSP verson of GT, but I can't wait to get my hands on it.

The BMW M3 GTR is a nice car... you should give it a try.

:)

not wanting to turn this thread in to 'hey I'm a dad too' but I'am.

have to admit haven't even starting looking at 300bhp + cars yet having a blast with the entry level cars (less then 40k a car) although in previous games always had a soft spot for the vertigo race car.

flyfishtom good to hear from you. hope your daughters have managed to actually play on the pspgo or it is always on charge after your gt sessions ;)

Thanks guys. It's 6:30AM and I'm up playing GT. I'm going to give the Vertigo a serious effort today.

Yesterday I tought my six year old how to drive the Bugatti on the Test course in S mode. She is pretty good and is now able to rack up some points for me when my thumb starts to ache.

The vertigo's handling is awful, i spent hours tweaking it and nothing :( what a shame
