Vista is awesome, loads new features & looks great!

Nope, not unless I had a damn good PC & the money.

Favourite feature, hard to say really. The new search is great, everything really!

Aero is the best thing ever to happen to windows, frigging awesome!

Yeah, I agree, the search capabilities of Vista really do make using the PC much less of a chore than it sometimes can be.
And Aero is very cool, I'm glad you enjoy it as much as I do :dopey:
 
Hi all, I just got a new laptop and vista installed as well. I am actually using the speech recognition part of the software to write this reply right now, it is pretty cool. My wife thinks I am a robot though, speaking in monotone all day long to my computer.
 
Could somebody expline to me what Aero exactly is ? is it just the 3d -flip thing and motions?

Well its the ability to have a frosted glass effect on screen for the windows. It uses your graphics card power to generate semi translucent edges so you can see other windows, icons and the background behind it and this creates a 3D floating effect. Aero is also used to do that window cycle / flip thing and other smooth transitions like opening and closing windows. Apart from that its just basically a way of increasing the eye candy effect..... I think its really neat.

it does look pretty neat I bought a dell laptop last night , and bought Home premium (for about 30$ upgrade edtion for academic use :D ) and installed I'm loving it so far
