I know in the past that Madcatz has created some utter crap for their wheels, but this time it looks as if things have changed. The way the guy talks in the video it would seem this wheel would be comparable to the Logitech Driving Force GT Wheel.

I'm probably going to get one since Best Buy has a 30 day return on this type of product. It seem like a good choice, but we won't truly know until it's out.

Here is a couple of links to the Madcatz new wheel.

What do you guys think?

Like Darin of ISR says, it looks like they bought the tech of the MS wheel from Microsoft and added a bit of their own design to it.
So in all honesty, I don't expect more performance then the MS wheel either. Which rates below a DFGT.

$249?! You can order a CSR wheel for that price brand new. Granted pedals might be an issue for a limited budget til the new standard pedals come out

Great thing bout the Fanatec you can switch out the brakes later and get a shifter.

Thanks for the video.👍

You know maybe they are right that Madcatz just bought the technology and wrapped their own design around it...or they bought the technology and found a way to improve it.I hope.

One thing that did interest me was that there is an AC adapter hookup to activate the Force Feedback. It's just like The Logitech Wheel in a way.You had to have the AC Adapter hooked up in order to get the motor to work.

I'm trying to look on the bright side in hoping it will be like the Driving Force GT.The reason why is i can't see myself spending $500 dollars for a Fanatec so I'm hoping the New Madcatz Wheel will be awesome.

Yeah, but i would still have to get pedals, shifter and the mounting brackets(i don't have a racing cockpit so i would have to get brackets. This would cost me well over 350 dollars. That's still a bit steep.

In the end i may have to go with a CSR or GT2 wheel, but first i'm going to go with the cheaper options since i can bring it back in 30 days.

Oh my freaking god... (pardon my French)

I just watched the video you posted, Starfirebird. I don't know why you think they are releasing a good product, but here's what I think.

First of all the presentation tells me a lot about the person in front of the camera and the company. My instincts namely tell me that this is a company that tries to make products by buying up cheap licenses to old technology and design an utterly cheaply constructed product. Why cheaply constructed, because they have to keep the quality down for them to get maximum profit. Which I feel is the only thing they care about, since that's the vibe they are giving off.
To me it is the same vibe as I get from watching the home shopping channel... here's an example:

Okay, every petrol head here knows what octane is I hope? lmao

Here's another one:

Yes, that is how the presentation comes across to me. I'm sorry, but apart from the presentation. The wheel looks like a toy. He taps it and says its metal, but how come it sounds like plastic? right...
Also the shifter looks like it'll break off at any point. So better not use it as a real banger. lol

Please get at least a DFGT, as I am afraid you'll otherwise be utterly disappointed. Even my Dexxa wheel looked better (it died with calibration issues). Which looked like this:

Yeah the guy does come across as being cheesy, but from what i read it sounds good even if the video is pretty funny.

Even if the wheel is horrible I can take it back to Best Buy for a Full refund.

I already own a DFGT which is why i'm hoping the wheel feels like the DFGT.It stinks that i can't use my Logitech on my 360.If it was multi-platform i would be having a blast right now with FM4.

ah, that's true. Well, if you're sure they won't be a pain in the ass when you return the product, and need to wait for the next paycheck. Then I'd go ahead and test it. Maybe you could do a little review, cause maybe I'm completely wrong about the product.
We can all state that it is certainly better then the new MS wheel stick thingy.

Best Buy in this area is pretty reasonable about taking stuff back.So no worries there.

I'll make sure to give the wheel a good/bad review when it comes out.If the wheel is bad i'll make sure to keep it for around 5 days and give it the run around so I can give it a proper review 👍

Sorry about before.I should have mentioned I already had a DFGT

No worries. I never thought about xbox compatibility in the first place and you might wanting something for that either so you could play Forza. So we're even in forgetting something. heh

I'll look forward to that review then. ^_^
