Retro Porsche RS 60 Spyder gets more power and a racy makeover.

The Porsche Boxster just got better. Harking back to the firm’s motorsport heritage from the Sixties, this racy new special-edition RS 60 Spyder is based on the standard Boxster S.
Power has been hiked from 291bhp to a sizzling 303bhp via a more free-flowing exhaust set-up, complete with dual tailpipes. A Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system also complements the chassis, resulting in flatter cornering and a sportier driving experience.
A unique front spoiler, 19-inch SportDesign alloys and spacers which push the wheels further out in their arches give a focused look to the design. There is only one colour option available – GT Silver – with a combination of either dark red leather with matching fabric hood, or grey hide twinned with a black roof.
Inside, there are trim strips emblazoned with the RS 60 Spyder logo. But it’s the instrument dials which take pride of place – their faces are finished in metallic GT silver, and the absence of a hood for the instrument cluster is designed to provide an edgy race-car feel.
This limited-edition Boxster takes its design cues from the firm’s Type 718 RS 60 Spyder. This was the first Porsche to win the famous US endurance race, The 12 Hours of Sebring.
Only 1,960 will be built, each bearing a plaque on the glovebox to denote their place in the production run. UK deliveries start in March, with the car costing £45,400.
