Hey, sorry if this has been brought up already, but I'm experiencing trouble with the "new post indicator" feature...you know, when a new post appears in a thread, or a new thread appears, the envelope and text are highlighted. After you've read the new post or thread, the envelope becomes faded and the text returns to normal.

I had this problem before, but I tried logging out and then back in again, and it seemed to have fixed the problem...but now I'm getting it again.

If you notice, I posted in the "Sounds like a waste of time" thread a day ago, yet it's highlighted as a new/updated thread, along with several threads older than it.

It isn't really something major, but I use the feature to figure out where to begin looking for new posts, so it's a minor annoyance.

The "new post" highlight is based off of cookies. What you are experiencing is a a slow update of the cookies on your machine. Hence the update when you logoff/logon.

Have you tried hitting the refresh after posting to see if that adjusts it?

The thing is, it worked flawlessly on the older version of GTP, and my computer, ISP, and browser haven't changed in any way, shape or form.

Refreshing does nothing.

I'll try logging off when I finish posting tonight, and stop using the "remember me" feature. Maybe that will work.

NOw that you note it didn't happen previous to GTP 8, I can verify that you are having a problem. I, too, had that issue, where Firefox wouldn't remember me. It took a few weeks of logging in and out, until it solved itself.

I can suppose that there are left over remnants of GTP7 that your computer hasn't cleared through yet.

I will note, that now with Firefox or IE, I have no problems with what is newly posted and are old posts.

Try logging out, clearing your cookies, and then logging back in again to see if it corrects your problem.

I tried logging out and logging back in manually every time I visited the site, to see if it would fix the problem. It worked for a while, but now it reared its ugly head again.

So, I logged out, cleared all of my cookies, and tried again. It's still messed up.

What are your browsers security settings?

I would highly recommend upgrading to see if you still experience this issue.
