New Post? My Post!

A little curiousity I've noticed since the upgrade.

Whenever I make a new post - and let's face it, that's quite often - to a particular thread, that forum updates to show that the thread has a new (unread

) post in it, although it's my post, so I've already read it. On the previous version it updated as an unread post (

).

What gives?

Obviously it's no biggie - and with all the problems you've had up to now I didn't want to mention it earlier...

Oh - and it doesn't happen when I make an entire new thread, like this...

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing... it's especially annoying if you use the "New Posts" thingie, and you keep seeing that bright envelope show up over and over. Occasionally I'll get irritated enough that I'll actually visit my own post just to get it to stop.

Close your browser and reopen it and it clears as having been read, but it's annoying me too - it happened before the upgrade to me as well though.

Well, you're definitely right about this. It doesn't seem to be happening on the vBulletin forums, even though we are using the latest version and the default templates (with GTP Lite). I will investigate further.

Yeah, no kidding! Fortunately this was a known bug that I was quickly able to search and destroy.

It happens in plenty of other forums i go to (http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/, http://granturismoforum.com/index.php and a few more).

Seems to be fine on my end. Keep in mind that if you use the back button to get to the forum page, or are using a proxy server of some kind, you will be viewing a cached page which will contain the incorrect envelope.
