Please ask
First I am sorry about starting this new thread because I think this has been answered before. I tried every search phrasing I could think of before I started this thread.

Now to the question. I will be getting a new PS3. I am playing on my son's right now. I have a seperate PSN account from the one my son uses. Is my PSN account tied to this particular PS3? I have my save backed up to my computer. If when I get my new PS3 will I be able to use my GT5 game save on the new PS3 or do I have to start a new game? Thank you in advance and again I sorry for the new thread.

The game save will work on the new ps3 as long as the user name is the same and the PSN is the same.

If I remember correctly its tied to psn account not the ps3 it's self

^^This, as long as you re-create the user on the new PS3, you'll be fine. You'll have to re-download all the patches and all that when you DO get on the new PS3, that's going to take a while, just a heads up.

Thank you all for your responses. I am relieved to know that I won't have to start over again(2X). Not sure exactly when it may be leaving of if for sure that it is. I am going to start sending my car collection to my account. I have a lot of cars and this 1 car per day business really bites. The biggest problem is my 2J. I am nowhere even close to what it costs and I have been really grinding the seasonals for cash. I finally won the Sarthe seasonal with it but even my other LMP like cars I can't send. Such is life :(. But life goes on LOL!! Thanks again.

The 650PP Nurburgring Seasonal in the A-Spec Seasonals will get you $1M and 200K XP if you have 200% log in bonus ;)

Just to add to this question, if I change my hardrive for a bigger one does this count as my account being used on another ps3 or will it still count on the same one. The limit that playstation had which was 5 has been lowered to 2 now and I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be affected by changing the hard drive. I hope this question makes sense to you guys.

Hard drive shouldn't affect it,just like you said if it's the second machine then it should be fine if it all matches, hope I make sense.

It's not I've used my account on my nephews ps3 aswell which is what I was worried about.the fact that I've used my allocation.

Hmm,well fortunately I haven't experienced this (yet?) when mine packed up it was still 5 but it looks like you need to start a new one unless you can retrive the data..:nervous: hoping someone can correct me here for ya.

Surely if it was an issue then playstaion would reset it for me because people do buy new ps3's and then one may break and have to buy another, therefore going over the limit.

Well I can always wait anyway because once every 6 month you can delete a a ps3 linked to your account which would open a space up anyway just incase it did affect it. But your answers are much appreciated. Thanks

If you deactivate the console for your account on your sons ps3 first via account management-->system activation-->games-->deactivate console then you will not be tied up to 2 consoles make sure you do this before you delete your profile, I learnt this the hard way as I have gone through 6 ps3's in 12 months when the limit was still 5 consoles

Did you try speaking to playstation to see of they would lift the restriction for you and if so were they any help?

Yes I rang scee and asked what my options where and because I didnt have the consoles they wouldnt do anything for me

That's a big out of order considering it was there inferior product that caused you the problem.
