RADIOHEAD ALBUM ANNOUNCEMENT
DON'T PANIC! Radiohead will release their sixth album Hail To The Thief on June 10. The first single off the album will be "There There." Hail To The Thief features 14 tracks and was recorded in Oxford and Los Angeles. It was produced by Nigel Godrich and Radiohead, and mixed by Nigel Godrich.

The track listing is:
2 + 2 = 5
Sit Down. Stand Up.
Sail To The Moon
Backdrifts
Go To Sleep
Where I End And You Begin
We Suck Young Blood
The Gloaming
There There
I Will
A Punch-Up at a Wedding
Myxamatosis
Scatterbrain
A Wolf At The Door

At ease: Radiohead have sold out their UK tour, but the group have extensive touring plans for the rest of the year. They will headline Glastonbury on Saturday June 28 and will also be headlining a series of festivals in Europe. Further U.S. dates are to be announced.

Can't wait, personally.

I was going to add 'Joy!' at the end of the title, but given some of the song titles it didn't seem appropriate, as filled with joy as I am at this announcement.

Hmm, I rather think they've gone off the boil, and have traded some of their musicality in a pursuit of shock value.

Well, we're three months from the album - let's wait and see.

I really liked Kid A and Amnesiac - they sort of introduced me to electronic music, and saw me get into music I wouldn't have otherwise considered three years ago.

Well, I enjoyed Kid A though for some reason I don't own it, although I do have Amnesiac, which I also enjoyed... but neither of them holds a candle to the first 3 albums. I'll wait to hear it before pronouncing judgement.

It's interesting how the last two albums polarised a lot of people - I personally loved them, but it's been interesting to see a shift of opinion after Amnesiac, particularly with the premature release of Hail to the Chief - I've seen the phrase 'good to see them pull their heads out of their arse' in a few reviews - I thought they were quite groundbreaking stuff, but the albums never struck me as self-important. The songwriting was still as strong as ever - 'Morning Bell', 'Dollars and Cents', 'You and Whose Army' just to pluck three of the top of my head.

I'm listening to a burn of Hail to the Chief - gee, for a rough cut it sounds awfully finished to me!
