I'd like to personally congratulate Jordan, Alt-F8, and every moderator for doing such a great job here. Thanks for the great site!

The congratulation "speech" is because today (January 5, 2005) at 2:04PM (GMT -6.00) we set a record of 1014 Active Members. This shattered the old record of 842 Members on December 28th, 2004 and the older record of 715-ish sometime in May. Great job, guys! Lets try to break 2000, guys! Bring Jordan some advertisment cash!

I'd also like to congratulate the servers for this! Even now with 900-ish users it is still running blazingly fast! If I could, I'd buy a watercooling system for the hard drives to prevent a China Syndrome in the server building in New York.
 
Yeah I think Jordan finally got the server problem fixed? I had a few slow times today but man oh man right now GTP is blazing fast!
 
We are of course generally getting more guests than members on the site at any time. I don't quite know what effect that has on anything, or what the figures say about how the increase of members has been since the release of GT4, but they would be interesting to know if anyone has them/wants to calculate them.

We're also nearing 50,000 threads and 50,000 members. I bet when GT4 is released State-side we'll have one major influx of new members. Activity on the board will at least double.

I think we need a brief voluntary questionaire for when people sign up :D

[EDIT] I mean why so many people sign up on day that has nothing to do with GT4 releases.
