new RM cars concept

Seriously need more GT1/2/3 style Race Modifications.
Enzo RM = MC12 GT1
Lambo Murcie SV RM = Murcie R-SV GT1
AM DB9 RM = DBR9 GT1
AM Vantage RM = Vantage GT2
Lambo Gallardo RM = Gallardo GT2
Saleen S7 RM = Saleen S7R GT1
Ferrari F430 RM = F430 GT2
Ferrari F458 RM = F458 GT2
BMW E92 M3 RM = M3 GT2
RUF RGT RM = 911 GT2 RSR
Jaguar XKR RM = Jaguar XKR RSR GT2
Nissan R35 GTR RM = GTR GT1
Ford GT RM = Ford GT1

Cmon PD, you've got the basic car for all of those, it cant be hard to modify each into a RM since you dont need to spend 6 months per car doing laser scans!
Damn Mitch! Stop reading my mind dude!

It would be nice to have more cars with the option to be racing modified, but do you think I would even consider racing modifying my Corvette ZR1 if I could buy directly the C6.R from the dealership? The answer is no.
RM is nice for cars you would not expect to have a racing version, such as a Suzuki Cappuccino or any other Kei car you can think of. But I really think that the game should have included more real life race cars like the ones that have been mentioned before.
Just my two cents, don't flame me :D

But that doesn't make sense. The C6.R is a GT1/2 car. What if you wanted a Super GT Corvette? Or a SCCA GT Corvette? etc.

Race car is a broad term. There is no "race car" version of a car. There are GT1 versions of a car, Super GT versions of a car, etc, etc. You could have every Corvette race car ever built in GT and it wouldn't make an expanded RM upgrade redundant.

I agree with dani_corvette. I like Race Mods on cars which don't have race versions already in existence (those versions should just be in the game as they are -- which is the case with the Focus, GT-R, Supra, Giulia, etc.). Take the Race Mod to an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and so on. That'd be fun.

A RUF would be nice in GT form with the Falken tire or Flying Lizard racing livery.

Well, I guess you're right there, but then again, why not include those versions already in the game? I know, if GT were to include every single variation of every single car it would be insanely enormous.
So the point is: give us as many racing modifyable cars as possible, but give us some more real life race cars as well. Then, as you said, we can use the RM to adjust our car to any racing spec we desire, or simply buy a race car from the dealership.
And, obviously, when I say race cars, I mean updated race cars. The game already has plenty of race cars, but it's kind of silly having to play with an outdated, 11-year-old race car (C5-R) when it's been already 6-7 years since the C5-R got officially updated by the C6.R (yes, I love Corvettes, if you haven't noticed yet )

:) As soon as Ferrari Signed on to GT. It killed that dead completely.

Negative. Having a Porsche with the Falken livery, or Flying Lizard is one thing. Having a Ruf with those liveries would be very different.

I hope you all realize that when ferrari went to make maserati's mc12 they simply took an enzo chassis, made minor changes, then rebodied it 10x more beautifully...

so by the transitive property an mc12 corsa is an enzo rm ..in a way.

my personal opinion is, if you want a race car, buy it. dont buy a stock car and expect a magic race spec car.

Why not? A lot of race series work that way. The team acquires a car, showroom stock, right off the factory line, and then turns into a race car.

this is true, but then again it is about all they can do, since they cannot simply buy a racecar from the past prefab. For the simple fact this is a game, there isnt too much purpose since we do have access, in the game, to a wide range of cars to meet our needs. In addition, we might as well be buying the rm version straight from the gt garage modifiers if that was the case, like buying a pre-done roush mustang.

now, if they .. put more content for all these cars, like they would have to, i am all for more content.

More tracks, more championships, more cars (RM or full racers) is what GT5 really needs instead of a billion skylines, supras, celicas, civics, etc.

Pro Race teams don't buy a STOCK car any more, those days are long gone, They Buy Direct from race car workshop/Dealers with there paint colours allready on it. Thats there chassis manufacture.

Out side F1 youll be lucky to see more than 4 chassis providers for a race series.
Some motorsport only have 1 Chassis and you tweek that, thats were the skill is.

Only amateurs event use production/stock models.

If It gets body work Smashed Up they can rebuild. Trash it to badly and they buy another car from the dealer. The restricted Budget and strict car rules in motor sport don't allow for custom builds unless the race series has a prototype series but even they will have limits still.. (and cars that break them get banned)

Pfft, where's the Gold Chrome paint job? :sly:

GraphiteGB dont know where you get your info from but your wrong at alot of levels...

In GT1 Prodrive starts off with a DB9 frame direct from the factory then build the DBR9 and DBRS9 from that. Nissan uses a stock GTR frame from the factory and Nismo builds the GTR GT1 from that. Pratt & Miller used a stock C6 frame as the basis for the GT1 C6.R (not a Z06 frame, try argue that with me and I'll beat you with direct knowledge). Maserati took the MC12 GT1 racer and stripped the race only items from it and turned that into a road car and its the only one in recent GT1 years to have been done like that. Saleen took the stock S7 frame and body work and turned that into a S7R using a contractor (forget who).
GT2 Porsches have been a factory affair for years but they still use a stock 911 frame. Same with the Ferrari's, they start off as a F430 frame or F458 frame and are taken off the line to be turned into a race car.
GT3 is even closer to a road car for some cars. Callaway takes a C6Z06 straight off the showroom floor and modifies it into a Z06R for GT3. AMg builds the GT3 SLS from a factory frame. Porsche ofcourse builds a factory GT3 911 the same as the GT2 911. Same with every other car infact, they all start off on the factory line as a frame and are taken off before any road car parts are attached to become a race car.
And no, you dont go to a builder and buy a racecar which has your livery applied, thats what paintshops are for, you buy your car, find a painter and they paint it for you.

You are incorrect. I can show you build threads if you like. Some race teams certainly still do drive to the Nissan dealer, buy a GTR and then strip it down and build it back up.

Even if they do include every race version of some car ever created (impossible to do), there would still be value in a DIY race mod feature to build up your own series online, or create just the right collection of parts. Or a "blank canvas", pre-race modded car.

Dude we've always wanted FIA GT cars...PD just had the stupidy to release GT5 before they put them into the game.

IMO it has more related to the competition ;)

Enjoy. A 13 page thread outlining the transformation of a bone stock, straight out of the dealer, GTR into a World Challenge Series race car.
