Hi guys, first time posting in this sub forum.

Basically I want to replace the stock speakers in my Renault Clio Mk III 2008 because they aren't up to scratch. I want some with decent bass and sound quality.

I literally know nothing about speakers, how to fit them, what sizes I need, or anything like that.

If someone could help me out or point me to somewhere that can, that would be great.

Cheers :)

Well, you can pick up some speakers for about £30 and all the way up to £195, I know that sounds quite steep for some speakers but for good quality, it's definitely worth it. I know that Alpine and Kicker have good quality sound speakers but you'd have to measure or check what size your speakers are in your car. I am no expert but I know the basics, would suggest going to your local Halfords and ask an advisor here. You can also look on the website here: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...fh_start_index=0&tabNo=1&reqType=productsAjax

I'm sorry that I'm not much of help...

Do you guys get Rockford Fosgate?

It's an American brand but they have some pretty good bang-for-buck items. I have a 6" pair and a 6.5" pair in the WRX and they certainly sound mighty fine.

Measuring up is pretty easy, depending on how the stock speakers are integrated. On my old Skyline and the WRX it was a breeze as there wasn't a speaker grille molded into the door cards but in the Accord there was. If it is molded into the door cards, they will have to come off to get an accurate measurement.

Alternatively check out a local car audio specialist if applicable and they will most likely be able to do everything for you; measuring, quoting and fitting.

But brand wise haven't gone wrong with Rockford Fosgate or Alpine. Pioneer also do some pretty good stuff.

Thanks Murcie, I'll have a look to see if I'm able to get a hold of those brands. I haven't actually had chance to measure the speakers for my car yet, is it just diameter I need to measure?

Yep, unless you have or are considering oval speakers, which come with a HxW measurement (eg. 6x9").

Most standard car speakers are between 5-6.5" in diameter.
