New Strobes

I bought some blue LED strobe lights at radio shack and I just went out and finished em up. There are two under each front seat and light up the floor nicely. I'd put up pictures but I need to charge up the digitial camera. I'll go out and do it tomarrow.

There supposed to go on you tires but I found out from a cop today they are illegal to drive around with em on.

Carbon fiber altezza's, neon strobes... WTF?! It's a Chevrolet Blazer, dude.:odd: These are things you should've done to the Eclipse, not the Blazer.
 
I sorta have to agree with you Josh.

But if they're giving the cabin a light glow, I have no problem with them, because they are actually doing something. If they light up the underside of a car, then they're just stupid.

Yeah, they're disturbing your vision, making you more crash prone. :rolleyes:
 
They should flash constantly, then make the cell phone ring..And the radio volume increase..And call it the "crash-ya-azz package"
 
I think you'll find blue and red coloured lights are reserved for emergency services, and consequently you'll be booked for running lights in those colours - unless you're driving a police car, ambulance or firetruck - which you're probably doing illegally - which means you'll get booked...

How so? I would find the oncoming traffic's lights more disturbing then a dimly lit cabin.

In order to be charged with impersonation of an officer, you need to show intent to impersonate (i.e. attempting to pull a civillian over).

I personally believe the security guards at Best Buy should be charged with impersonation, but they never are.
 
The whole thing is in most states interior lights are illegal no matter what color they are..That's why you can't drifve around with your dome lights on..Alot of cops don't mind..But I'm sure if it's blue they'll pay more attention to it

I see quite a few trucks and things (S10 Xtremes, etc) modified like BlazinXtreme is doing; it just doesn't seem all that weird to me.
 
First off I don't drive with them on since thats just stupid. There for show like in a parking lot.

I didn't buy them, I got them for free.
 
They look brighter then they really are, its my camera. Its actaully very dim.

Actually, I was fooling around in GTA3 at the time I posted that. I doubt most civilians driving around in police cruisers would have obtained them legally.

The offence on lights doesn't relate to impersonation - I think it's a specific vehicle regulation to lighting other than for braking, indicating, and headlights.
 
You can't even see the lights unless your in the cabin.
 
oh ok then...They don't look bad I just thought, due to the pic they'd be more of a distraction..But if they arn't as bright as they are in the pic i'm sure they're coo..Besides that..Blue lights in a black SUV look coo

My comment was directed at your 'I think you'll find blue and red coloured lights are reserved for emergency services, and consequently you'll be booked for running lights in those colours' comment, rather than the government vehicle comment.

Not sure about in Australia, but in the US, it's up to the police forces how to dispose of old cars - for years, Chicago publicly auctioned them. Some forces sell them cheaply to cab companies where they live out their lives.
 
Same here - but they're not running the full set of lights or signage, which is what I was getting at.
 
It's your Blazer. Do whatever feels good to you. I used to have a blue dome light in the Chevelle for a while. The original light was so bright you needed sunglasses. I eventually took out the blue lense though.
Personalize your stuff.;)
 
thanks DBG. I think the lights add a personal touch. blue is my favorite colour so why not add some blueness to the truck.
