What would you guys think to changing the second hand car dealership and how its done.

Instead of having a UCD made up of cars as we have it now in the form of existing untouched game cars, we start day 1 with a completely empty UCD and it is filled up with peoples unwanted premuim cars.

These can be in any form standard / modified / painted etc and uploaded to the UCD with the users wanted price attatched.

So for example a fully modified ferrari f40 would cost in the region of a million quid. The user could upload his unwanted painted fully modified and setup car for 700k.

This way you could recoup some money for your unwanted cars, others would get a chance to buy the car at a cheaper rate than premiuim and have it already setup properly for racing.

It is already possible to upload to PD servers , driver stats / photo's / and general game info, it would not be very hard to implement a UCD that is made up of the community.

The online UCD is basically this already, all PD would need to do is figure out how to let people upload cars to this and attach a wanted price.
it could work along the GIFTING lines as far as when someone purchases your car, you automatically recieve the cash.

Also if in GT6 we get for example 600 premium cars which are fully modable and paintable the colours and combinations of cars would far exceed the 1000 cars we have already.

Finally if in GT6 a livery editor is added..the car list would be pretty much infinate.

Just a thought I had and wanted to put it up here to see what you guys think and in a vain hope pd might pick up on it and at least give it a thought.
 
I think logically it makes sense, but there's no real benefit to PD implementing this (it's not as though the Premium cars actually have a monetary value so there's no barrier to people buying an F40, other than the time and effort required to build up enough credits). Plus so many of the cars (standard) are only available through the UCD that if we lost that, we'd lose 80% of the cars in the game.

There's already an equivalent market for this (you could call it a black market I suppose) for trading/gifting cars via arrangements made online. It's imperfect but gets the job done for those that have unwanted cars. Just my opinion though.

I see where your coming from, but the trading market I dont use and dont trust people to send what they say they are going to. Its all to easy to RIP people off that way ( just my opinion )

Also yes you can go buy an F40 and mod it yourself, but at a higher cost, what if you could buy and F40 fully tuned and painted in chrome for 200k and already pre setup for say a RING TIME ATTACK CAR.

As far as loosing 80% of the cars, no because if it were incorportaed in to GT6 and the majority of standards become premium you wont have lost anything as such.plus with all the extra tuning aero parts and hopefuly a livery editor it would make the list up.

There is also no reason that the UCD as is stands could not co-exist with the new style one, so we could just add to an already populated UCD.

Ah, sorry I thought you meant implement it in GT5 via an update to replace the existing UCD. Yea I definitely would prefer to have something like this than to not having something like this, especially if it was implemented like a tertiary dealership (maybe like the private classified ads?) so that you still had some stock used cars (like used car dealerships) and then used cars from individuals in various conditions/tunes (classifieds) 👍
 
Maybe keep the game UCD as is.. but change the O-UCD to user cars only and have the best of both worlds.

Its all there and working, just needs a bit of a tweak to be able to upload user cars.

Especially with unwanted cars in the seven figure range. Instead of the game getting rid of it and you getting nothing in return, you put it up in the UCD and can get something back (even if it's just 1/3 or 1/4 the price, or even naming you own price), and someone else also benefits by finding use with your car. It's a win-win (sort of).

It's essentially what you described, it's a good idea. 👍

There's an auction house where people can put their own cars for sale, stock or modded. There's also a "storefront" for each user where one can sell tuning set ups or liveries for in game credits.
