Toyota is teasing a sportcar developed for Gran Turismo 6. As the French AutoPlus site says, the design of this car will possibly give an image of how the Supra's successor will look. The concept is to be revealed at Detroit Auto Show this January.

Vision GT Car for Toyota maybe?

Yes it will soon!

Hope it's all not chrome with neons.

That's an image of the Toyota VGT car.

Yes it is... But does this VGT car turn out to be a Supra concept? Hmm...

I doubt it.

I rather have a Premium MKIV. I just love my 360HP, almost stock Supra. And I would love to drive it with cockpit view. As far as I've seen in pictures, it didn't even get a slight graphic improvement. It's still an ugly GT5 standard.

I rather have this beauty and it's base model

I was under the impression that the VGT cars would only exist in the game?

My guess is that the new Supra is this:

and Toyota's Vision Gran Turismo concept is a race-modified (GT500?) version of the car.

@sparkytooth

That still doesn't verify if it'll be in production, just like the X1's, they have a real model but it's not in production.

I know, I'm just pointing out that they are real to an extent.

Mercedes Benz actually is considering to produce 5 VGT's.

Well, VGTs are concept cars, so they can evolve into something that goes into production, just like the Range Stormer Concept '04 we see in GT since GT 3 or 4 was a first look into the design of the current Range Rover.

Some Mercedes people already said that their VGT might have something to do with the design of their follow-up to the SLS, by the way.

This looks more like a race car that borrows the aggressive silhouette of the LFA rather than the Supra, but sure it could be a Supra, the same way a LFA is a stylized expensive supercar that is roughly inspired by the look of the Supra.

Of note, gt500 next year uses dtm style rules and the Lexus RC is the confirmed car for that. So its possibly just a race concept car. Theres also the Lexus vision car looking closely related. Kaz did say new cars would come in updates, but will the supra be included?

Isn't that just the 86 GT?

The covered up car? It's not, the front end doesn't match up.

There's 16 pages worth of speculation about the car over here. The most likely candidates were deemed to be the new Supra (due to its likeness to the GT86) or the new Fairlady Z (due to its likeness to some new Z concepts).

Just for fun I did a comparison between the covered up car and the VGT concept:

The hood/fender doesn't quite match up but that could be down to the racing version having higher fenders. The roof is slightly lower as well.

I saw this story on Jalopnik, they're unveiling their VGT concept at a show soon and there's a bunch of rumours that it will go into production as the new Supra or the LFA replacement. Toyota and BMW have confirmed they are working together on a sports car, which is rumoured to be either the new Supra or the LFA replacement. Basically the Toyota VGT has been pulled into that rumour mill it seems
