Well I am new to drag racing, used to be into drift stuff. So far I do muscle drags in my premium Mustang V8 '07. I'm just confused with some stuff. Why do people say random numbers sometimes when racing? Also I can't seem to find the right way to launch. I'll brake rev the engine a little, and then when the ghost goes invisible and I let go of brake and throttle I end up with 0 MPH and have to hold throttle again, and by then I probably have given the other person the lead.

Welcome :)

The random numbers are time. If you see to the right top hand corner, you will see a chronograph, right? Well, it is the "seconds number" that the random numbers are about! 👍

Welcome! I would love to drag your mustang!

Random numbers correspond with the timer in upper right, when there's nobody to ghost then people use that number as the "go" time.

Try reading the tuning guides, they will help you and provide everything you need to know.

This pretty much. Good luck drag racing. Just watch out for poor sports. :p

Already met one who doesn't like mustangs so he purposely became the signal ghost, and when I got off the line he turned solid on purpose and then said "Sorry I don't like Mustangs".

Oh god. I would love to drag race you sometime :)

Sorry for the double post but can anyone direct me to a tutorial on how to launch? Like I said in the OP, I can't get a good launch without it bogging.

Okay. But what about when I'm at the line in Indy. I hold brake and let go, is that the way to launch? Or am I suppose to lightly hold brake and rev the engine?

Rev all the way, use e brake instead.
