Hey all!

I'm new to GT 5, I have played like 10 missions now.
So far I am loving the game.
But I haven't played online yet.

Can anyone give me answers to those questions-->
How is the online gameplay? The same?
I wonder if there are like 10 year old childs spamming their microphones.

And I figured I can't acces the ''premium'' cars yet.
I have to work my way through, that seems completely fine with me.
(new to racing games, but loving it)
Is there the possibillity to juist free roam/cruise around the world/map?
Like just having fun and riding with some other players?

Also, I can only use the cars I have earned in the singleplayer side, in the online mode?

Last question, and the most important one to me:
How to ''Tune'' my car etc?
I saw those options in the menu, but I really don't get what I have to change.
Like, there are options to change some stuff inside your car, I don't really get what can make my car better by changing it. Well faster ofc but still, if any expierenced player could explain me, I would really appreciate it.

I would REALLY REALLY appreciate it if anyone could answer those questions for me, maybe it's to much to ask for a rookie like me, haha.

Anyways, thank you for reading!

Welcome to GTP.

Online racing can be hit and miss. My rule is if you find a good racer when online ask to be there friend and in no time you will have a good list of friends to race with.Plenty of leagues and spot races on the Online forum here.

With regards tuning your car check out the tuning forum. the guys in there give really good advice.

Good luck and most of all enjoy the game.

Regards

Online Physics are different, so the cars do not stick to the road as well when you are online. This requires different suspension tunes.

There is no world/map. People do cruise online at places like SSR7 if you are into that sort of thing.

There is a list of recommended cars that everyone can use, but you cannot tune them.

For tuning info, go to the GT5 Tuning Forum.

My best advice, is to look around in the forum. All your questions are essentially answered here on GTP. Look in some of the sticky's first.

The tuning board will answer every single tuning question you have, in the sticky's.

Welcome to GTP. I can try and help you with the tuning question. Buying parts for your car and installing them ultimately will improve performance of the car, but you'll need to fine tune them and that's where the group over at the tuning forum can help. I have a link in the lower left of my post to my garage, stop in take a look and ask away. I'll try to answer any question you have (and don't be afraid to ask. I was new here once as well).

I hope I can help. Enjoy this game

I would give my thanks to the guys above me :)

This really helped me out a lot, i'll check out the tuning section soon enough :)
If anyone wants to race with me anytime soon or just wants to add me my PSN is Nerak66.

Once again thank you all!

hi add me i host fun race nights on sundays from 8gmt you are welcome to come and join in on the fun.

And I figured I can't acces the ''premium'' cars yet.

You can access Premium cars from the beginning, my first car was a Premium Mazda MX-5. You just need enough Credits for the car you want (the New Car Dealer has only Premium cars).

add me for clean comfort:soft and sports:hard tyre racing

I think the seasonal events are good for exp, so you can level up and use race cars.

If you want open world cruising and casual racing
I'd recommend Test Drive Unlimited 2, while not as realistic as GT5 it does give you a ton of open space to free roam in your car (all of Ibiza and Oahu on and off road). welcome to GTP!

Hey, I'll answer your online question. It totally depends if you find legit racers or not. And for being 13 myself, I can't stand kids that use their mics period. Unless you are a decent online racer and a kid I make exceptions.Anyway, I would start out in shuffle rooms because you do not need a car that's yours to race. When you get enough cash I'd suggest NASCAR rooms. They provide a ton of fun with good racers. And that's how I got my money flowing For the tuning... Well I'm terrible at tunning. I usually just add some downforce and mess with the gears lol. So hope that helps. Oh, my online name is rap129 so send me a FR and maybe we can race sometime!

do like QB1o sai and build up xp and creds really fast by do seasonals, if need cars to do for them i will put up for borrow the ones i use bud. just send fr with request to what want and i do for you ok !!!

What he meant was:

"Do as QB1o said and gather a lot of experience-points and credits in a short period of time. If you're in need of cars to participate in the seasonal events just send me a friend request and I'll let you borrow mine."

The biggest key to Gran Turismo is learning how to drive properly. I wouldn't necessarily worry about tuning right now, first concentrate on driving a good racing line, learning the tracks, and how to race with the AI. Don't rush to fully tune every car you own, most don't need it. If you always using a fully tuned car to beat the AI then the game will get boring for you very quickly. Take your time and enjoy the game.

Like others have said, online racing is a mixed bag. Once you find a good group of people to race with and you have learned how to race properly then it can be a very pleasant experience.

Once your ready to start tuning your car start with the handling first. A well handling car with low power is much more fun to drive than a high powered car with no handling.
