welcome to GTP Strangester,
the Nomad diablo JGTC (yes i said DIABLO.there is a way to get it) is a great car but for rally races buy the ESCUDO, easy victory once you master it,due to its insanely fast acceleration and high top speed. but the best RWD car I found is the Team ORECA GTS-R ridicously fast and great handiling.

Do not use the Escudo, for the same reason you would not use the F1s in regular car race. It is pretty much cheating. You get a much greater sense of accomplishment and get more fun out of the game if you win fairly. Plus, if you hone your skills playing fairly, you could be competitive in online racing.

Fact-based. The GT3 Oreca leathers the GT3 C5-R. As well it might since the Oreca model featured in GT3 got a 1-2 at Le Mans ahead of the C5-R by, I seem to recall, 7 laps.
 
However, from many tests I;ve seen on road courses, the standard, street sold C5 ZO6 and the Viper GT-S seem to match up evenly, in part cause the Viper tends to be a bit more unweldly for even experianced drivers.

Personaly, I prefer Vettes in real life.... but... thats saying alot since I prefer Celica's to Vettes, simpy because I dislike domestics... <_<
