Well gentlemen. I've been searching for new cars for almost a year now and have test drove pretty much everything on the market, until today. I used to have a 05 EVO 8 and loved the car, honestly i never thought that a car could be so fantastic stock and with a few bolt on's the thing was just a beast.

I drove the 370z, which is a fantastic looking car but the the road noise from the tires and the notchy shifter detracted me from the vehicle. I've driven the new mustang 5.0 and the v6 which are two great little cars but for some reason i felt the car a bit too bif for my tasted, but the power from those cars are definitley respectable. Especially the 5.0 (wicked fast).

But today i went to see the new eclipse...they look O.k, but then the salesman asked me "Well why don't you take the EVO for a spin"..I said sure why not? WOW......This particular model is a white EVO MR with the TTST and this car is a rocket. Awesome suspensin compliance, wicked stereo, bluetooth, cruise control, leather and suede seats. I am amazed at how this car has evolved. You can switch the transmission modes from "normal" which shifts like a typical automatic car, "sport" which adds some extra pep from 4-5k and shifts instantly (with the paddle shifters) the there is S-Sport which turns this car into a beaassssttt. Boost is on from about 2k until redline and it pulls hard, the shifts then are straight from GT5 Prologue..there are seriously that fast.

Needles to say...I am once again the owner of an awesome EVO. Traded in my BMW 330i and have turned again to one of the greatest cars i've ever driven..

Welcome (back) to the Evo club. How do you find the conparison to your old 8? I keep hearing about how it's a much better car, but not as...involving as the older ones. Had a chance to throw it around some twisties yet?

The steering feel of the car is still very direct, any previous EVO owner can attest that very little steering input is needed compared to other vehicles and this car just as good as my previous EVO.

I can understand how some may consider the car not that involving and honestly it there is anything at fault for this i must say it's the TCSST. Full throttle is a beast but since it's an automatic some drivers might feel a bit disconnected without rowing through the gears.

I haven't pushed it hard through some local roads but it stays flat and planted, it feels like the car is very connected to the ground (typical EVO attribute)

Other than that i'm still in the learning process for the car. To anyone looking for a new car, do yourselves a favor and take this car out for a spin!

Thanks for all the comments boys, this car is a revelation..I was trying out the super sport mode and i seriously feel like i'm playing GT5...Man PD did a really good job caputring this car's handling dynamic, it really is that sharp throught the corners, and stability is incredible. I'm going to start going easy on the car during it's break-in period, but man..Very cool car indeed.

One of my friends has a 2009 with a 5-speed, AMS intake and 3" turbo-back exhaust. Thing is a monster.

I know i could have found it cheaper if would have searched a bit more but for this particular model i paid 39k+ :(. A wierd thing though is that i had to come in today so that they could put the Evolution MR emblem, due to the fact it shipped without it? strange but oh well ;)
 
I assume they must ship over regular Evo's and convert them into MR's. They did a similar thing in the UK with the Evo VIII. (If I recall correctly)

*GASP* It's a fake! You just got ripped off my friend. :sly:

Seriously though, very nice car. It's one of the only cars I've ever really liked in white.
 
Why does it have a Lancer Ralliart front end?

EDIT- Huh a quick Google shows most of the "MR" with the chrome I thought that was only a Lancer thing..
