PD has implemented a new seasonal for our B spec drivers:

400 pp

500pp

650pp

I just got the update a few minutes ago so look for it next time you get online and try it out. I use the Nissan March in the 400pp race and my level 39 guy easily won that with no commands and now I'm trying out the 650 pp race in the Zonda LM Race Car and the same driver is killing it!

I ran the 97 Civic Hatch Type R for the 400, a Renault Clio v6 in the 500, and a Zonda R in the 650 and my level 32 bob won them all. Granted the BMW Mclaren in the 650 gave him a run for his money lol

I actually used a level 27 driver. And even in the 650 PP race, where a level 30 driver is recommended, it took only 4 laps to take the lead. Without any directions given, mind you. Then again, maybe the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car was a little overkill.

I had my level 24 driver in a 787B:tup:

It states "Online B-spec challenge".

Since I'm running a race I can not see how it works, maybe others are interested.
Can you please explain.

Where do find the event (on remote PC?)?

Can already confirm it is not remote, so online events section on the PS3.

What are the cars you can select? (Probably all out of your garage)
Who are your opponents (other players or AI)? (Seems AI)

I used the Camaro SS '10 in the 500 pp race and finished third lol. I'll try the Renault and see what happens.

My driver won the 650PP race by 0.152 in the R34 TC. Overtook the Ford GT on the last straight. Used a Clio V6 to walk the 500PP race and I'm not sure what to use for 400PP yet.

Edit: Turns out the FC RX-7 works great for 400PP. Great seasonal. :D

I really enjoyed these B-spec seasonals. The most fun I've had with B-spec since the early days when I was first training my Bob's.

I used a stock BMW 120 '04, with Stage 1 weight reduction to put it on exactly 400pp. My Bob took the lead on the 4th lap, with just a little prodding from me to overtake the lead car.

For the 500pp race, I used a fully tuned Dome Zero Concept '78 which came in at 515pp, so I limited the power to 87.5% to bring the pp down to the entry requirements. Just like the first race, my Bob made his way upto 2nd place easy enough, but again needed prompting from me to take the lead on the 4th lap.

Finally the 650pp race which was where I had the most fun. I used a Nissan Fairlady Z Concept LM Race Car. Fully tuned, it came in at 653pp, so I limited the power to 98% to bring it down to 650pp. This race was a decent challenge and needed constant prompting from me for my Bob to move up the field. The lead car was a Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II which built up quite a big lead. It was lap 6 by the the time I'd worked my Bob up into 2nd place, and the Ford GT was 6 seconds ahead. Fortunately it's driver was on a downward slump and wasn't lapping as quick, so I was able to gradually catch him over the next couple of laps, and then pass him on the start/finish straight just as lap 9 began. The Ford GTs best lap time was 7 seconds faster than my Bob's best lap, so it may be trickier to win if there are 2 decent front running cars to push each other along.

For all 3 races I used a level 31 Bob with a blue up arrow.

Also, these seasonals are a good way to grind for suits and helmets with little to no input, if you choose the right cars. For comfortable wins on the first two events, a Spoon CR-Z tuned to 400pp wins with no prompting whatsoever with a level 31 Bob. Likewise for the second event I used a Citroen Xsara Rally Car '99 tuned to 497pp, which again wins with no prompting.

EDIT: I just ran the final race again in a Chaparral 2J Race Car '70 and it was a cake walk. The car was stock at 649pp and it took the lead on the 3rd lap and won by a country mile. I may have lucked out though as the lead AI car was a GT by Citroen Race Car and there wasn't a Ford GT or Zonda LM Race Car in the field.

The 400pp is too much easy, I do it with a BMW 2002 turbo and a level 1 driver ...

Then, the 500pp race in a BMW Tii and 650pp in a BMW V12 LM

Agreed, way too easy. My guy drove away with it in the Civic Type R (EK) 97

I'm guessing you didn't have the Chapparal 2J and the BMW McLaren LM at the head of the pack when you started, either.

I used the Pug 908 and it took 4 goes to win against these two, with a lev 38 driver, lots of encouragement and minimum aero.

The first 2 were done in a premium RX7 spirit, first detuned to 400pp, then tweaked to 500pp with a turbo, an ECM and a new set of pipes.

Ffs. Note to self, save yourself an hour of trying by reading the tyre restriction. Been trying Tokyo on sport hard tyres!

I've been leveling new Bobs all night in the 400pp and 500pp races. My 400pp Hommell is good enough for a level 0 driver to win the first time, and in doing so he nets me $250k and shoots to level 10 or so lol. Nice.

the 500pp race in the little Opera S2000 nets him 44,000 XP, good for 3 or 4 more levels. The downforce of that car makes it foolproof, even when he's stressed. Probably get him to level 20 in less than 2 hours.

I did the 650 pp races with the Chapparal 2j. If you get the line up with no Chapparal you hit start and you win. No baby sitting. With the 200 % bonus you rack up 420,000 points every 17 minutes. I did that last night while watching the world series. My driver is a 39, so maybe not so hands off with a lower driver.

I tried two level 20 drivers in the new R34 TC at about 625pp and the highest I got was 8th. The lead cars had quite a lead too. The car wasn't enough and the driver just couldn't handle it. He was almost exhausted by the end!

400 PP Mini Cooper S, 500 PP Callaway C12, 650 PP Zonda R, needed to help the driver all the time.

I've been using a 400pp Hommell and 500pp Opera S2000. I've been levelling my drivers, and even level 0 driver runs away with the Hommell. My hottish drivers win without help with the S2000, but my cool drivers need a little coaxing. That car's downforce helps it outbrake the competition and outrun them through the high speed kinks. Oh, and it's only about 480pp too!

I think I already posted that actually.

For the 400 PP I used a stock Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 evolution II. I had to change the power slightly due to it was over the regulations after the engine rebuild. The 500 PP was done in a '98 Subaru Impreza Coupe 22B-STI. 650 PP was done in the Audi R8 LMS Race Car '09. My driver was only level 26 so it was pretty tough for him to win the 650 PP but all other races were easy-peasy

trying the 650 race now with my GT-R GT500 Stealth. (644 PP). Got into 2nd pretty easily but 1st is the BMW McLaren F1 GTR...and he is not going to be caught.

EDIT: just realized everyone else is on Racing Hard tires...I am on Sports Medium. Yeesh.

Will try the Chaparral 2J next, probably.

Love the update. Props to PD.

These seasonals are very easy. Im glad PD didn't forget BSpec totally. However just a little thought. Did anyone notice the first lap times by the cars in front? lol...they are at least 10 secs faster than your bob will ever get regardless of how much faster than the rabbit he is.

I looked at the Tokyo race and when Bob hits the starting line to start the race the first place car is already at the beginning of the second sector. His sector 1 time is -.--.-- lol. Everyone one else is like .01-.17 sector 1 times due to the weird game start PD implemented. Just a little silly to me. Since they are doing a roll start it should start from way back. And the first place car should start the race not the last place car. Its 10 laps so its more than enough time to overhaul the lame AI cars. As it is Im in first place by lap 3 anyway.

Anyone else notice this?

BTW Id gladly eat up some more BSpec races. I wish they would permanently get rid of the 9 hour Tsukuba race with Spa enduro race for the offline peeps. Or just add more offline BSpec races.

I've been racing the 650 pp race also. I am using the Volkswagen W12 Nardo concept.
It has 635 pp and it does extremely well.
The only car that gives me trouble is the BMW McLaren. He is always knocking at my back door.

B-Spec Seasonal...Awesome. I hope this becomes a weekly occurence along with the regular events.

A fully upgraded MX-5 for 500pp seasonal can give some tight racing.
Lots of overtaking (overtaken by others on the straights and chased up on corners).
My bob took first by overtaking 2 cars at the last corner of the last lap. Superb racing all round.

Done mine this morning, bob lvl 32, blue arrow, used Zonda R on RH tyres with 106 kg ballast in the middle. As for babsitting - just occasion "go faster" or "take over," got the lead in 7th lap, 8th and 9th were tight with BMW McLaren F1 GTR right behind my tail, got a greater in lead in 10th lap.

I have a couple of machines I use to grind out helmets and suits when I can't play a-spec.

For the hsr 400pp race, the Lotus Elise 111R is perfect. I make a couple of set up adjustments, and moderate the power and add balast to make 50/50 weight distribution, and it romps home with no input.

For the Rome 500pp race, I use a wicked looking green Lotus Evora with a massive (slighty ridiculous) rear wing. The other alternative for me is the Honda NSX Type Zero '02. I have a slightly tuned version in Japanese Blue, and it is much faster than the rest of the field in a straight line.

Both of those will win the race with no input.

(Note: I tried the Mazda roadster TC too, and even painted it up all nice with the DLC chrome green. Unfortunately it is just a bit slow and doesn't quite get through traffic quick enough unless prodded.)
