Just had GT3 for about two weeks. I can't devote as much time as I would like (wife and 13 month old) but I have been able to get most of the beginner golds and all the easy licenses. Anyway, here is my best advice:

1) Get the endurance license at all costs. Just block off some time and get this done. Then invite family over!

2) (Purists will consider this cheating) .... Pay $5 to nephew, cousin, any youngster who values $5 to race the Super Speedway endurance race. 100 laps, pays $200k and you get great cars.

Here is the scene: It was early on in the game, maybe 10% done, and I had family visit. Two nephews, 10 and 12 yrs old, for three days, and they raced the Speedway (for 3 days!) Seriously it cost me like $50 but it works great. I was able to spend 'quality time' with the family while they packed my bank and garage.

Very good thinking, I have a wife and a 4 year old. I think you might have to be married with children to appreciate your idea.

Nice idea there mate might give it a try somtime

what about test course that is the most boring race ever especially long races
why not try the escudo tape up the anologue sticks accelerate and tape the right stick to the right

then you can leave the game running when you come back the race is won
the escudo just scrapes along the barrier but its that fast you dont get overtaken

this is just theory ;)

not far along enough to do the escudo trick yet. To me that's stright-up cheating whereas what I am doing is making two new GT3 addicts in my nephews! They now are both asking mom for the game...good outcome!
