Thanks, nice vid, to be honest it is the first time i saw it although i read it was posted earlier in another thread.
Anyway nice to see that garage/hangar, hope something like a 3D garage will be in the final game, although it probably has to be massive to store all the cars included.
Maybe if they somehow devided the garage into sections whereby you could choose which cars were stored together they could probably create something which wouldn't have to be physically ( or visually ) huge.
Just flicking between different sections of you're garage seeing the space in that video would probably be able to contain 50 or so cars or close to 100 if tightly stacked together you would need 10 to 15 of those sections.
Imagine creating all sorts of themes like Italian classic/supercars or garages with only one colour.
As analog says, I don't think it would be a great problem to do it like he explains it, I thought something along those same lines. You have to remember that the LOD still works, it's a hangar type of thing(not a lot of detail), no physics, no AI, no multiple engine sounds etc. you get the point. In such a simple environment, divided of most performance sucking features of the game, you could stick a lot more cars and still have a 60fps.
Thanks for the video, though that "beep and bang" that runs all the way troughout it is just killing me . I really hope we get a nice garage, a la PGR4.
Welcome, just a wee reminder, avoid text speak. It is against the AUP you agreed to, i've highlighted a few things in case you don't understand.
You might want to look into capital letters and spell checking while you at it.
I don't know. This generation just doesn't appreciate the value of the written word! In my day we knew not of this 'text speak' they use on these 'mobile' phones. We were given a stick and some dog poo and told to write the alphabet. Sometimes there was no stick! I just don't understand technology today. I mean mobile phones are rubbish for writing the alphabet in dog poo!
