Yes, I know that's a screen for GT PSP, but the amount of details in that Corvette means that it isn't an actual screenshot from GT PSP... so is this coming from GT5? I started notcing this ever since the lauch of the GT5 Red Bull trailer, which had various "scenes" from the intro of GT PSP (below)... so could this mean that various track, including New York and El Capitan, were all GT5 ready (in HD), but got pulled out at the last second? Still, I could be wrong...

SAME scenes of a Corolla Rally car appear at the same time (1:20)

Think about the fact that Laguna Seca and other legacy GT tracks were included despite not being up to PS3 standards indicates what was left out (like NYC) was obviously not ready for primetime.

As far as cars I understand it that Polyphony captured and modeled the Premium cars in a detail higher than that in GT5, and then downscaled them for PS3. Makes sense, so that they will not have to re-model the high retail cars for future games.

I hope your right Mike, if you are right then that means that future versions of GT will greatly benefit from the hard work put in for GT5!

No.

If the tracks were "GT5 ready", they'd have been in GT5. It's as simple as that. There's absolutely no reason for them not to be. They wouldn't have left out "GT5 ready" versions of these tracks but included tracks that look like they're running on PS2.

Further, there's no benefit or argument for excluding them, since there's no drawbacks or limitations preventing their inclusion. Disc space limitations isn't even a limitation, since games have never been limited to a single disc. Using Forza Motorsport 3 as a perfect example, the game included more cars and tracks than could fit onto a single DVD, so they simply used a second one, and without disc-swapping during play since players simply install the data from disc 2 and never use it again. Even if PD didn't have room on disc 1, they could have an installable disc 2 with additional courses.

"GT" would have worked just fine. Nobody needs to and shouldn't have to alter the font color when typing out game names. Would you make sure to select red and gray font colors to type out "Forza Motorsport 3"? How about a yellowish-orange for "Killzone 3"? "Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots"? Shoot, we've been neglecting to hunt for fonts that come nearest the logo fonts.

I remember Rusty doing the same thing when I first joined GTP in mid-2009. I assume that he's done it since he joined here too..
Back on topic, I think that they could have been in GT5, but those clips could have just been rendered. Just because GT5 has partially-insanely-awesome graphics. Doesn't mean everything with similar graphics comes from GT5.

Tell this to Sportwagon. :p Who has been typing GT now for years.

Come on, there's nothing wrong (no rule against) people using fonts and colors that are easy for us to use as we type posts. Carry on, Rusty.

Rendered? There were still some faults, and some things in the backgroud were still low-res (Eg. the crowd). They don't look rendered at all...it looks very GT5-like. But that's just my opinion.
