I am new round here and this site has got to be one of the most confusing sites that i have attem,pted to navigate round........

i am not even sure if this message will make it, would love to be able to share my pics in the comps but i find it next to impossiblle to use image shack, or the like, wats wrong with facebook gallery?

also, getting a profile pic is unable to do!?!?!?!?!?

you should maybe consider simplifying it,

i am not trying to sound rude or a pain in the backside, love the game, love the comments and comps etc, but it seems hard to join in!!!!!!!

Hi, welcome! If you want to insert pictures into your posts for competitions, perhaps look into an account at a site such as www.photobucket.com, it's free and you can easily upload pictures. For profile picture, I'm assuming you can't get a picture because it's too big. The size requirements are I believe 20Kb or 100x100 pixels (it says right where you upload the picture). Make sure to have a read through the AUP, and note that they don't want you to use text speak and to try and capitalize. Hopefully that helps, and enjoy the site!

Welcome to GTPlanet. Sorry you're having difficulty.

You can host your pictures anywhere you wish. It is not required to host them at Imageshack; we just have Imageshack integration built in. Once you have the pictures hosted at your chosen location, simply put the URL of the picture between image tags in your posts: like [IMG*]http://www.hostname.com/yourimagelocation.jpg[/IMG*] . Just don't include the * symbols from my example.

What issue do you have with loading a profile picture? Does your image meet the size requirements that are listed in the Edit Profile Picture dialog?

Also, I realize you are a new member, but please review our rules again. We really prefer proper spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. We're not trying to be spoilsports, but we find that insisting on proper usage helps keep the posting quality high and also makes it easier for users who are not native English speakers. Thanks.

If you're interested in the photography competitions then we generally use sites like photobucket and imageshack as it allows us to host various different sizes of photos depending on what we need them for (for example, in the photo comps two different sizes are usually required, one for a thumbnail link and another for the photo itself). As I'm sure you're aware, every photo you upload to facebook is hosted at 640x480 size and the quality isn't that great. It's fine for snapshots, but when we spend that much time getting the "perfect" photograph, a facebook gallery doesn't really cut it!
