SpeedTest
Hello, my name is SpeedTestJimmy, but my friends call me Jim. You can call me SpeedTestJimmy:sly:
I have recently acquired the resources to venture online after a week of offline play. This leads me to my penultimate question; what would be a 'good, easy, fun, fast' car to start with? I have got all the DLC, and with my favourite car (458 Italia), I consider myself fairly good at the Acceleration Mode in the Speed Test. So, what's a good 'noob' car for me to begin my online endeavours with?👍

Depends bro.
Have you timed any car???
As a new to Drag you can start from one of the easy cars like 4wd cars.
Then you can start tuning rwd and mr and last fwd.
In my opinion start with GTR Spec V which is the best starting car.

I agree with Kleo, The GTR SpecV '09 is the most popular and best "noob" car out there.

I'd suggest you try and tune some slower cars too early on like an rx7 or some muscle cars, tuning only the fastest cars will limit you. Try and build a diverse garage, I made that mistake early on and when I finally found a room with good connection and a good host they were only running muscle and cars in the high 9 low 10 second range.

Buy the most popular premo cars, break them in, then come back for help...

If you wanna get the edge I say jump in the deep end. Try cars that are a little harder than a GTR. Every second 'pro' of today in aus only have good Nissan awd cars.. Your probs not aus but it's a real problem.

May I suggest an FR car like an acr or a vette. Something with low front high back.

There are plenty of tunes here to base yours off and learn what works. Good luck to you mate 👍

I've done as was suggested and bought what I would consider to be the more popular drag cars. Dodge Viper ACR, Nissan GTR Spec V and the Audi R8 5.2 were the first selection for me. I will proceed to break in and tune over the weekend coming.

The first 2 are highly popular. You rarely see the Audi R8 unless its a room full of Audi LeMans' and someone has an R8 out thinking thats the car everyone else is using.
A short list of some popular drag cars:
Premium
Standard
9.5 sec and lower
Nissan R35 TC
NIssan GTR Black Edition

Audi LeMans Quattro
Nissan Skyline R34
Ferrari Enzo

Ford GT No Stripe
10.5 - 9.6
Shelby Cobra
Mazda RX-7
Chevrolet Camaro SS
Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo

Toyota Supra RZ
Checrolet Chevelle
Plymouth Cuda

No one really drags cars that are slower than 9.999 sec though. If they do its only FF Hondas. Build up some cars like this and you will have pleanty to race the cars you see 90% of the time.
There is a little diversity in the drag rooms but not much sadly. Most of the time all you will see are GTRs, Enzos, Vipers ,RX-7s, Supras, and FF Hondas.
Cars you might... and I stress might see:
Mercedes SLR McLaren
Mitsubishi 3000GT
Pontiac GTO
Ollium Spirria
Shelby Series 1

Cars you almost never see:
Nissan 350Z
ANY Honda that isint a Civic or Integra
Pontiac Solstice
Older Camaros

There are far more examples than I have time to list.
