Newb inc - Ring questions

I've noticed that some of you have mentioned that you (quotes inc) "pit every 6 laps on the ring" - seeing as though I"m closing in on my 25% tonight - is there a setting where you dictate (while in B mode) how many laps to go before automatically pitting?

I dont think you can set how many laps you want to run before goin to pit. It's all done base on how bad your tires are.
 
You automatically pit once your tires get past a certain stage of suckage?

EDIT: I've also seen it mentioned that you can switch between B spec and A spec while in a race - is that something that's done while in the pits? I still ain't got to a race where I needed to pit yet.

Yep. You pit when your tires turn orange.
 
Or when you don't have enough gas to get around another lap. And usually your drver will drive the tires to red unless the course is really long and they're bright orange at the beginning of the lap.
 
I've also seen it mentioned that you can switch between B spec and A spec while in a race - is that something that's done while in the pits? I still ain't got to a race where I needed to pit yet.

yeah in the pits you can switch between A-spec and B-spec.
 
You CAN switch between A and B Spec in the pits (always good to drive for an hour or two to get a big lead, then let B-Spec Bella take over).

You CANNOT tell Bella to pit in at a pre-determined time (ie 6 laps). You will have to tell her every time - it's to stop you from letting it run overnight to get money. Plus, the game sometimes switches back to A-Spec for some reason (or so I've heard). It should take you about 8 hours to run in B-Spec at 3X speed, so if you have a day off, just let it run and do something else while you keep an eye on it. At least, that's what I plan to do when I get out of hospital and won't be able to move much for a few days.

B-Spec pits automatically. You CAN run it overnight and collect the money :) I've never had it randomly change back to A-Spec. That would really suck if it did and I weren't around :) And actually, the 3X setting is really more like 2.75X (1 real-life minute corresponds to about 2:45 in the game) The 24 hour races take a little over 9 hours to finish with the 3X setting. Just a few bits of useful information...
