Hi all, my apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.
I come from a Playstation background and have played GT 1-4, A LOT. I never upgraded from my old PS2 but I am looking to get back into racing. The other night, I played a little Forza 4 at a local Wal Mart and I was blown away. I MUST HAVE THIS GAME. LOL I've decided to jump ship and purchase an XBox 360 and Forza 4. I guess my main question is will a 4 gig XBox be enough to play Forza 4 or do I need to buy a 250 gig? I will probably be the only one using this console and I won't likely be purchasing many other games as I'm pretty much into racing only. I don't think I need a wheel or kinect right away either. I'm open to any other advice or suggestions, also. Thanks!
 
I've been told you can't install FM4 on the 4 gig... but go out and buy a different Hard drive for way less than you would spend on getting the one with more memory
 
Yes, the 4GB Xbox will work but with one limitation and one minor annoyance. The drive will spin more often during play as you cannot install disk one (program disk) - a little louder but a minor annoyance. The limitation is that you can't save replay's. But definitely doable.

I have 3 of the 4GB versions (triple-screen setup) but upgraded all with new 250GB hard drives. I purchased the hard drives from "http://cfventure.net/new/" for $55 (72K RPM drives - MS Xbox drives spin at 52K). Just pop the drive in, format, and your all set to go and now equivalent to the 250GB Xbox 360 console. There are other sources that also sell hard drives if you go this route.
 
I found a 120GB hard drive on Amazon for my 4GB console and it cost me less than $40 with shipping. It works just fine and far more than you will ever need for a few games.
 
$199 even includes one game, not Forza, of course. ;)
And yes, I'm a huge car nut. I don't race, but I've done a couple minor restorations and go to shows, etc. I used to live for the GT games, but took some time off to raise kids. lol They're old enough now that I should have some time to invest in a great game like Forza 4.
 
Can't wait for Christmas Day!!! This week we picked up an Xbox 360 4g with Kinect for $299 and Wal Mart gave us back a $100 gift card (some special they were running with the purchase of this Xbox), effectively knocking the price down to $199. Picked up Forza 4 for $40 brand new, because they price matched some other store's sale. We also got that Disneyland game for the kids. We used other gift cards that we were saving and and walked out of the store only paying about $69 in cash, and still have the $100 gift card to use later! Unfortunately, since the console is a gift for the whole family, I have to wait til Christmas day to play! lol Just wanted to update you guys.
Oh yeah, picked up the 2 year additional warranty also...
 
I got a 4 gig and FM4, works fine. The 250 gig is just a waste of money. If you need more space, plug in a flash drive. A good one can double or triple your space

Sweet, I haven't tried installing the second disc yet with my 4 gig. I'll have to try it. I've been playing Forza on and off since Christmas day, and I'm really loving it so far. I had no idea how bored of GT4 I had become.

I'm not exactly comparing, more pointing out that GT4 is the last racing game I have extensive experience with. I took some time off from gaming.
