Hey. I started off with a Mazda Miata and souped it up to somewhere around 315 hp, with sport suspension and some other stuff. I want to upgrade to a faster car with BETTER HANDLING. Can some old GT3 pros gimme advice as to the best car under 35k?

What's wrong with Miata?  Outside of the Sprinter, the miata (J) was my first real money maker in the game.  I'm sure there are better ways to do it - what I did was totally pimp out the Miata with Turbo to win the turbo class until I had enough cr. to buy a NSX which proceeded to be my next money maker.  With the NSX I was able to win the 100 lap Endurance Speedway for 200K and a F-1 car (F090/S) which really opened up the game for me.

Hope this helps....

Get an American Integra Type R, soup it up and you can win Te Stars and Stripes, FF, and Type R meeting.  The Type R series is easy and you can win it over and over for like 42,500 each time.
With the Camaro you win in the Stars and Stripes you can win the NA.
This Camaro beat the Stars and Stripes, FR, and NA in Amateur as well.

Just a suggestion

Hmm... From personal experience I would say to go for an Evolution. Any of the models would probably do it for you. You can race the Turbo, 4WD, and plenty of others. It was a good helper on the Amateur League as well.

Once you get a few prize cars, they will complete other race sets, get you more prize cars, until you practically forget about your credits.... At least that is what happened to me. Good luck!!

:burnout:

A 315 hp Miata? The Miata handles great, but I'm not sure if that much power in that light of a car will start to make it a bit tougher to control. I'm not sure.

Anyway, as for car recommendations, one of the coolest things about this game is that people tend to like different cars and styles. A lot of what's best depends where you're at in the game. I'd look at some of the upcoming series requirements and what you have in the garage and see what you might need. Like TwinTurbo said, an Integra can be used in both the FWD and American tournaments (if it's badged Acura, not Honda). It handles nicely, too. (It'll also work in the Type R tournaments Well, it can be entered in both, but you might have trouble winning the Amateur R series with it.)

Other good handling, powerful cars for less than, say, an NSX (one of my favs, but very pricey), are the RX-7 and Corvette (especially the Z06). They do drive very differently, though.

Also, you can always go into free run in the arcade mode and try out some different cars.

Go buy a Viper or a Vette they give ya many bang for few buck. Then go and do the american championship untill you win the camaro race car. Then do the amature GT world championship with the camaro and youve got LOADZA money to buy whatever takes yer fancy. Ps Then Buy a TVR or a Jaguar and do the european championship untill you win the Gillet vertigo (ugly but faaaast)

i would go for the tommi makinen version evo..thats what i did
then i got a lotus esprit after that. with that i won the European Championship and got the (crappy) Vertigo race car its a good first special model :)

Well, first off, I don't know if you are actually asking this, or if it is just a really old post of yours you brought back to the top for old time's sake, but here goes.

From here, you have two options, one will come in under $35k, the other may require you to race the Turbo/NA (whichever one you upgraded the Miata with) a couple of times.

1. Buy a Lexus IS (Toyota Dealership), and some upgrades (you shouldn't need too many), and win the Amateur Altezza cup (make sure to save after 4th race, exit the 5th, and repeatedly re-load your game until you get the Altezza LM Race Car). Now, if you wish, use the Altezza to beat the last Altezza race in Amateur, and use it to quickly win the Altezza cup in Beginner (sure, it may not be challenging, but you already proved your mettle by winning the Amateur Altezza Cup, not that I care about being fair, but you might :) ).

After that, to come up with money for dirt tires and the highest engine upgrade, race either the American Amateur Championship, or the Euro Championship, an use the save before last race trick to win the most expensive car and sell it (the Camaro Race Car at $250,000 resale, and Gillet Vertigo at $300,000, respectively). Keep in mind that if I remember correctly, the American should be easier (I don't remember what cars you'll be facing in Euro, it may be easy to, but I remember that you should have a pretty easy time in the American Championship).

Now, buy the best engine upgrade and dirt tires for the Altezza (it's a race car, so everything else is taken care of). After that, it should be fairly easy to win all the rally races (you don't even need the engine upgrade to be honest, but getting the engine upgrade is easier than trying to win the rallies by actually racing, instead you can just generally aim the car and floor it with the gear ratios set to acceleration, of course make sure you have an OK 6th gear for the straights). Now, you have the Escudo, and several options open to you, you can either get your S License and win the Like the Wind race, netting you a 787B, or you can try Super Speedway and risk the 1/4 chance of getting an F090/S. Keep in mind however, that if you get the 787B, you can win the Dream Car Championship, and use the save-before-last race trick to get an F090/S. Another option that doesn't even require the Escudo (but does require your S License) is winning GT World Champ. in Amateur, and taking your GT-ONE + Super-Slicks to the Polyphony Digital Cup to get an F094/S (best car in the game). But whatever you do, that strategy will get you pretty much all you need to beat the game (remember the Euro/American Champs if you ever need money to buy anything after that, and the game should pretty much be yours from there on).

2. The other option is to buy the SLK230 Kompressor, race the Beginner Silver Arrows for upgrade money if you need it, and then win the Amateur Silver Arrows for the CLK Touring Car. From there on you can race the American Championship to get money as described above (save 4th race, reload until you get Camaro, sell for $250k). Or you can win the Euro Champ. to get the Gillet Vertigo, which you may want to keep, since it is fast and handles excellently once tuned. Whatever you do, once you get your hands onto the race cars, you should be able to get whatever cars you need from there on to beat the game.

So there you have it.

D'oh! Not sure if everyone caught it, I doubt it, but I didn't. I have to start making sure I look at the orig dates before responding. I'm guessing Stealth Viper is wayyyyy past this now. Ah well, maybe the tips will be of use for some new people.

ummm...no!

the viper handles like a brick despite 1070HP at full HP and the vette is just plain wrong.

For a second car, i would get a JDM integra or a TME Lancer EVO 6

For a third car, Skyline GTR R34 V-SPEC 2, no better car than that for a 3rd car.

Uh, guys... SV is doing this for nostalogic reasons, not because he's a n00b... ^_^

Okay i didnt bother to read all these but for 43,000 you can buty a 3000 gt,add a turbo kit and do the super speedway endurance until u win an f1,then lifes easy
