Added to the 2017 VASC calendar as the Coates Hire Newcastle 500, this newest street circuit at 2.629 km, was host to one of the most controversial race finales in Australian Touring car history. Located in Newcastle's East end, surrounded on three sides by two beaches and a wharf, makes for a picturesque view like that of Victoria's Phillip Island GP circuit.
