Activision leaves PC stalwarts crying into their keyboards as the next Call of Duty swans off to console land
The next instalment in the acclaimed Call of Duty series will appear exclusively on next-gen consoles, according to Activision CEO Bobby Kotick.
Speaking to investors yesterday, Kotick noted that the next Call of Duty game - which is due out sometime between October and December - is "not a PC product, it's a console product and it's all next-gen."
This news surely comes as a bitter blow to hardcore PC gamers; the series originally began on the platform 2003 and recieved plenty of critical acclaim. However, if recent internet rumours are to be believed then all may not be lost for PC shooter fans. According to the murmerings two CoD sequels are in the works; one in a modern warfare setting and another in the traditional WWII theatre. Could one of the sequels still be headed to PC? With E3 only days away, we don't have a long wait to find out.
We'll have our full hands-on report with the next Call of Duty game when we stagger around E3 next week.

I think Activision have made a big mistake in doing this.
