Meet the next ultimate Lamborghini!

These pictures give us the best look yet at how the raging bull of the future will shape up – and it’s set to eclipse the existing Murciélago in every way.

The car has yet to be given a name, but it’s expected to combine Lamborghini owner Audi’s aluminium spaceframe chassis with a carbon fibre bodyshell.

That will make it much lighter than the Murciélago it replaces – and guarantees stunning performance to go with the incredible looks.

Up front is a pronounced spoiler and fresh headlamps – but designers have reserved the biggest changes for the rear. They have moved the Murciélago’s trademark angular exhaust closer to the ground, while new strip-like LED tail-lights replace the current square units.

Power is expected to come from a 6.0-litre V12 with around 700bhp – that would propel the car from 0-60mph in just over three seconds.

The new Lamborghini will also be wider and longer, while four-wheel drive ensures it’s firmly planted on the road.

Preliminary prototypes have been spied near Germany’s Nürburgring track, but the car is unlikely to arrive before 2012.

The newcomer will also pave the way for future generations of hybrid Lamborghini's.

It will be the brand’s first car to use efficient technologies such as stop-start and energy regeneration, and is a major step towards bosses’ plans to deliver the first-ever Lamborghini hybrid by 2015.

That looks amazing, especially the rear shot.

eh...It's nothing really new. Nothing that makes me say "Wow." In fact, a lot of cues are taken from the Reventon, here.

I like the back they took from the coupe project that they canned, but the front looks really weird. I'll have to reserve judgment on that for when i see a production model in person.

I'm pretty sure that is just an artists rendition of what they think it will look like.

EDIT: Proof it is an artists rendition. Wheels and whole rear end are identical to estoque.

It's a splice of all the Lamborghinis made in the last few years.... Lamborghini wouldn't do that.

I bet it looks nothing like those renditions when it eventually gets shown.

Agreed... usual Autoexpress/Autocar rendering guess work to sell magazines.

It looks like they just made a cross between the Murcielago and the Reventon. I don't really like it. The Murcielago was great and the Reventon looked great as well. Just, not when they're combined into one car.

The lights are too small, and I hate the look of those weird pointy lights that Ferrari's using on their 458. Make the lights bigger, and remove the stupid stabby lights, and I'm golden.

The rims look like something a DUB tuner would use.

Nowhere near what Lamborghini is actually designing. The most obvious thing is that rear. It's sitting way too high, and as J-PaP posted, that's because the artist took it right off the Estoque.

All the info isn't new either. It's been speculated for a while that the power levels will be 700 at the least, & the VT system has been a big inclusion in these cars since the early 90's.

Wow, the -Estoque- rear end is very pretty. Also, check out the Murcielago B-Pillar area.

 That's because it's a photoshop made up of bits of Estoque and bits of Murcielago. The artist was too lazy to predict what direction Lambo's designers will take with the new car, so just re-hashed stuff that they already produce/have shown.

If it looks even remotely like this i'll eat my hat.

It's cleaary not going to look like that. Smoeone' sust sat down to create what they think Lamborghni will make than though "they'll take the Murcielago and update it, put the rear of the Estoque on there and then add some Reventon styling cues". What you're left with is an ugly duckling car that looks like a modified Murcielago. The car will look new, it might share styling cues, but the shapes won't be the same. It won't look like this.

I wish I was as good as Lambo at making ugly cars and selling them for wheelbarrows of money.

My first impression was that it wasn't nearly groundbreaking enough. Then I spotted all the bits of other cars and came to the same conclusion.

My guess is that several cups of espresso have had to be cleaned off monitors down at Automibili Lamborghini SpA this evening.

Reminds me of all the Diablo successor shots that were run in the late 90s. "Its likely going to look like this," they all said. Then the Murcielago came out and looked nothing like any of them. Good times.

You mean the Kanto?

I didn't know Lamborghini were looking to install hair dryers on their cars. :sly:
