It Promises, It Delivers, but it you'll be pissed when you find what you can do.
Well, NFS:C, what can I say, but your typical new NFS. It starts out like all the new ones...You lose a car, and you must rise again. The story in this one is actually quite better though the whole small mystery is easily shown early on.
So, gameplay...um, nothing different. Crews are pretty cool, though Blockers are the only ones who are actually worth using. Crew Members also have some advantages, some being the ones who let you use autosculpt, which isn't all that great to begin with. Territorys are just there to add story. They aren't a challenge.
Other than that, nothing new.
The cars being the main point of the game, sound beautiful. Modifications can be heard easily from turbochargers to superchargers. But, you won't start seeing them until 65%, which can be obtained from your first car.
Now, the bad, b/c at this point, it's the usual formula. The demo pretty much sums up anything new too because nothing is new.
Bosses are easy. This is the EASIEST NFS ever made. The Canyon races called a challenge are easy! Fully modify a RX-7, and you can pass any Boss on the first leg by outcornering them. The only hard races are Race Wars (which can be easy when you get better cars), and the 3-Boss Battles and Darius at the end.
However, it's so easy, my Skyline passed Darius on the first leg near the end. So much for a tough boss. The only challenges in the game are Achievements and the Challenge Series (which the police ones are the hard ones). I can't believe how EA made this sooo d*mn easy. I've only had the game less than a week. I bought it Sunday...beat tonight, Tuesday. 3 days. I have never beat a NFS game in that short of time.
Hell, NFSU1's boss was harder than this whole game! Wtf....
Now, one reason I bought this game was for the CCX, Zonda F, and the likeliness. Here's the bad. Once you actually acquire them, guess what. The LP640, CCX, and the such are available...online, and only online. So, you know what that means. If you don't have Live!, you're screwed. The only way you can't is if someone reveals to me how you actually acquire the cars offline...Oh wait, there's always the ONE challenge event with a RICED out version of the car.
This really pissed me off as I was looking forward to pissin' off the cops in these. Now, I can only piss off other folks. The CE's whole exclusive set is also...online only. Now, you can think that's ok, but online sucks....There are rarely any game with over 5 people.
So...about the only good is the sounds, the cars, and I guess the story line. Everything else, just kind of sucks, or si a huge ass dissapointment.
MY advice fellows: If you really want the game, go the PC route. Free online, hacks to actually let you have fun with the cars, and unlock the ones EA claims are downloads. The X360 version was just not worth a $70 price. I had more fun with Most Wanted and NFSU1 than this sadly. This game had a lot of potential for fun, but everything you want after beating the game slaps you in the face.
Rent IT! Learn from my mistake.
This weekend, I really do plan to delete it, and trade it in for Gears Of War which I hope does not suck as much ass as Prey and Saints Row did even though I thought they'd be great.
