Quite simply for the controller player its an awesome demo worth playing.. But sadly there is no wheel support which i find to be a shame since Burnout Paradise has it.. Now i hope im jumping the gun and by final release this issue will be addressed.. If so they have my $$$.. If not then i wont be in much of a hurry to get this.. What are your personal opinions on the demo?

I thought the demo was very good. For some reason the crown vic seemed to handle better than the 370 z that was weird. I think i am gonna pick it up on day one i dont mind using the pad on my ps3. THis is just good fun to play with freinds until GT5 is released

Good demo, pretty much Burnout Paradise + Cop mode and supercars imo, which to me is a good thing since I like BP. Will pick this up for sure.

BP was definetly fun in its own way no lie about that.. But at least BP has wheel support..

Shocking there is no wheel support on the demo? Will rent the game before I buy it, My recent puchase and burn by EA on Medal of Honor will not happen again. I have always been a fan of the NFS franchise but Undercover and Shift were a disappointment. I will give Shift credit after they finally fixed some major issues in the game after release. The problem with EA is they generally release a game to early with too many bugs that take away from the games potential. I am personally looking forward to BBC2 Vietnam's release, but until then I may just download NFS HP and check it out:tup:

Have you ever tried Paradise with a wheel?. It's bloody awful!.👎 Don't get me wrong, it would be great to have wheel support in the full version of Hot Pursuit(as long as the experience is decent), but the demo isn't bad without it, after all the game is arcade biased.

Downloading it now, dissapointed to hear about the lack of wheel support, not sure I'll bother with it now.

THE final version of the game WILL have stearing wheel support from the need for speed forums

I have.. Its no sim but it isnt that bad... The wheel support for SuperStarV8 is probably worst than BP but its still enjoyable in its own way..

It better damnit..

Compared to BP, a big meh. Sure "real" cars and lots of things to do. But not my cup of tea. But then again I really don't care about NFS games besides a modded Shift and Porsche unleashed. No real sense of speed. Bored after 5 minutes.

This demo is so fun , NFS is back and they have finally recognised we want supercars and vast landscapes to thunder through , And the cops , well its marmite , you love to be them or you hate chasing yourself

The demo is alright, but like everyone has said above. It's just Burnout with Cops and Exotics. It would of been fun with wheel support, now my G27 is just collecting dust until GT5 comes out.

I don't know. Having played Burnout Paradise for the past couple days, there ARE a lot of Burnout elements, but it doesn't really feel like Burnout. It feels like Need for Speed. This probably has something to do with DICE being involved.

There are VERY little burnout-related physics in this game.... how many times must i reiterate that?
If all looks for is drifting and boosting to consider it remotely like burnout then they have not played other arcade racing games before...because even those aren't a thing like burnout.

HN7, you need to play Burnout for a longer period of time to understand HP3 doesn't feel anything like Burnout... I'm not trolling or flaming, i've been playing Burnout for a solid 6 months and nothing else..

Burnout probably got ideas from stuff from the original NFS games, so its a wee bit annoying to see all these 'its just like Burnout' references. Then again, i haven't played it yet so i might say it too. ;)

Finally a real NFS game,oh how i've missed them :)
Agreed!

the cars handle like poop. E-braking is highly unrealistic. GT > NFS

Even for an arcade racer, the new NFS doesn't do it for me.

Thats my opinion of the game too. NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 was always my favorite of the series. I have been asking for almost 10 years that they just release a Hot Purstuit game. This demo was quite nostalgic to me especially with the vehicle commentary. That hasnt been in a NFS game since Hot Pursuit 2.

Trying to race against friends times in the demo was very addictive especially in pursuit mode. I do however miss the 3d slow motion spin around move that was in Hot Pursuit 2 but oh well this is still a great game. I am still going to rent it to be safe but its nice to finally see them going back to the true Hot pursuit roots.

There's one thing I didn't like in cop mode... Let's say that I ram a racer up to a point that his health bar is red and flashing and THEN I overpass them and see them in my rear view mirror. If I slam my brakes in front of them, or slam the wheel as they are about to pass me, even if it causes them to grind against the railing, they won't take any damage, even though his car is just about to get wrecked. The only way you can inflict damage to a vehicle is if you hit them hood-first. If they are the ones hitting you, even if that is clearly your intent they take no damage whatsoever. I do *not* appreciate that.

I just got my copy for the PS3, so far I can't get my G27 to work with this game. From what the EA forum reports only the PC version will work with the G27.

EA Forums

PS3 Steering Wheel Support:

Logitech and Logitech-compatible steering wheels will not be detected at all on PS3, some others that are based on the PS3 standard controller will work but you'll have to test them to make 100% sure. We will be considering official support for Logitech's Driving Force GT, G25 and G27 wheels at a later date. Other Logitech Driving Force wheels and other wheels that are Logitech "Class B"-compatible should be configurable to work with the game, but are not officially supported.
Why make racing game you can't drive with a wheel??
