9 cars of ProStreet have been released, and once again, thanks to EA's money to gain brand new cars, are now the first to show off the 2005 Nissan GT-R Proto.

EA today revealed the first 9 cars from the full car list of Need For Speed ProStreet.

Need for Speed ProStreet boasts an impressive and unique car list that spans over 40 years of the automotive spectrum. Today, EA unveils the first set of vehicles to be featured in the game with the Nissan GT-R PROTO leading the pack. This will mark the first time that the Nissan GT-R PROTO, which was unveiled at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show, is available in a full packaged video game.

Every car in Need for Speed ProStreet is selected for a reason – it is either unique, aspirational, memorable or highly desirable. The first list of cars to be revealed in Need for Speed ProStreet is:
2005 Nissan GT-R PROTO
1970 Plymouth® Hemi® Cuda
1986 Toyota Corolla GTS AE86
1995 Mazda RX-7
1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse
2006 Audi S4
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer EVOLUTION IX MR-edition
2006 Volkswagen Golf GTI
2008 BMW M3
Damn you EA, damn you!

Im soo meh on this. I reckon even Carbon had better... Even though the full list aint out, i think the released cars give us an idea of whats coming ahead. The way its going, it dosent look too good. But it reckon a few Europeans are making it into the game 👍

Erm, wasn't the GTR Proto in GT4, or am I thinking of something else?

Different Prototype which was also in PGR3. This one is closer to the final design.

The list isn't final yet, that's only 9 of probably 40 or 50 cars to come, not to mention a few supercars. (Murciélago LP640 & Audi R8 should come to mind)

It's all just rehash from Carbon, except the M3 and GT-R, which will be broken and unrealistic along with all the other cars.

...Just like Carbon.

Probably because it's an arcade game. Although, EA has said they're going to be presenting much more realistic physics....Of course, this is EA talking as these are the same folks who obviously replaced the makers if NFS I-NFS:HP2 w/ kids right out of college who just got done watching Fast & the Furious and American-made "Street Racing" videos.

Honestly, if I wanted a game to recreate street racing, I'd rather the game be made to recreate Getaway in Stockholm rather than F&F. I'm sure all of you will agree with me on that at the least.

No no, A game can still be realistic and arcade at the same time. See any Need For Speed prior to Underground as an example. Even as most recent as Dirt, as it's physics are a little less than accurate. (Seeing as how big trucks weigh about 10 pounds, and lose fights to street signs on Pikes Peak) But it's still... realistic.

Carbon was a disgrace to the entire racing game genre, and I expect no better from this.

The NFS series has gone straight to hell. I remember loving this series, with gems like High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed, yet now... John just said it best with the *yaaawn*.

EA is like a band that sold out years ago. They do it for the money only, and they get no joy out of what they do. You can feel it, by playing any of their games.

It's in their business plan for all their games to be rated an 8/10 and that's what they do. They make games for the money.

Compare it to a game made by a developer like Genki, who you can clearly tell make games for themselves to play, and just decide to release it to the public.
