I read in a magazine interview with Nick Heidfeld a few months ago (Evo magazine) that he can do the Ring in Arcade Mode with the Opel Astra Touring car on max power minimum weight in 6.14 with the DS2.

So my friend an I sat down to try to beat this... The best we got was 6.07.114

I've tried again since getting my DFP and haven't been able to better 6.12 with it...!!


So - how about you?
 
I've Read that article in the AUgust 2005 issue of EVO magazine

You can never really go flat out on the nurburgring even with practice you can get as close as you can to 100% but that will increase the risk a lot.

Also take into consideration that GT4 has a lot of variables held in constant
like the tire grip level, track, car performance.

Also, formula 1 drivers are taught to drive within a certain degree of reserve since car variables change a lot in real cars. For example, F1 cars burn around 3 to 4 litres of fuel per lap meaning your car will handle slightly different than the last lap it gets lighter and the tires are deteriorating .

But I've read somewhere that cars on economy tires (N1, N2, N3). lap times in the nurburging were within 2% of their real world counterparts. So for an 8 min laptime that would mean that the real world car can lap +- 4 secs from the time I achieved in GT4

Cheers for that insight... Very interesting.

I forgot to mention that the tyres he used with Sports Soft.
It's great fun trying over and over - especially if you have someone else with you so you can keep shaving seconds off each others times.
